So I'm supposed to attend Jury Duty on the 22nd. I should probably reread my paperwork, if I can find it.. I think it's at work. I don't know. Hahaha... Yay preparedness!

I got to see the duckies at work today. There are some really pretty ones that don't look like the rest. I got some pictures of them but I don't know if they're good enough to actually see the cuties well.

People keep quitting-- it's sad. I like my job for the people, not necessarily for what I do. Although telling grown adults who act like spoiled children "No" and having the power to enforce it is pretty awesome.

Speaking of which, Machine Gun Mary (customer) called me again. She's 70-something and is batshit insane. She... is... well. She's insane. Brendan, you can back me up on this one, now. You've heard her.

Six little ducks that I once knew...

The world loves me today!!! You know how much I like DUCKIES, right? Well, LOOK:

DUCKIES!!! Bonus: If you go to www.yahoo.com and watch the animation, then mouse-over, you see the ducky-trail like above!! Soo cute.

That said, happy birthday to Brendan!

I hope that, in this coming presidential election, that I have the ability to- no, the honor of voting for a candidate I believe in, not against the one that worries me the most.

Yay music video that I like. :D )

I turn 20 tomorrow. Bobby also has the day off with me. Yay! It's been a while since we had a day off together, since we don't share our off-days anymore.

So, I decided the other day that I'm for Obama. I wanted to back Hillary, but after researching both her and Obama, I really can't.

Also, a nice thing I found on Obama's website:

We are a nation of many faiths and of those with no faith at all. The religious practices of all must be respected.

"Given the increasing diversity of America's population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been greater. Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers." - Call to Renewal Keynote Address

Happy New Year, all.

May this one be good to all of us.

Christmas!

So, I was gifted with this red beauty and as such can bring you happy pictures of my holiday. :D

MORE TO COME, as my internal memory allows until I can get a real SD card.

Time for that annual year's-end snapshot of each month.

Under cut, because I realize not everyone wants to read the first sentence [or so] in each month in my LJ. I'm not that exciting. )

Yeah, I'd say it's time for a new notebook.

Need to start saving after the holidays- this one is having power cord issues and now keyboard issues [my q key is quite queer, and it took me forever to up its reliability - however that tinkering was quite detrimental to the quality of its appearance.... it's now wobbly and the top side sticks up a bit.  But I can spell squirrel now without hitting the q button 20 times!

I wants a cheap one again, I think.  I'm far too cheap to get a real notebook haha... I kinda want an Asus Eee PC just because they are PRECIOUS and use this one as a wireless fileserver however long it lasts- but I don't really want to tinker with the odd version of Xandros they've got on there.  So I will probably end up getting another low-end machine.  Idunno.  DEFINITELY NO COMPAQS.  and HP makes my brain hurt, plus they are too shiny.  Acer is not as shiny, and cheap- but my current is an Acer and it's a POS.  But then, I like POS computers.  What can I say?  This one, if it would REMEMBER THAT IT IS, IN FACT, PLUGGED IN already does more than I need it to.  The only thing I'd change would be to have more HDD space.  I don't even need a friggin optical drive.  What do I use optical drives for?  NOTHING.  xD

Ah well.  I may end up taking it to a shop and having it fixed if it's cheap to fix, but it probably isn't....eeeeh.  Laaaazy. Don't want to send it in, don't want to bother with Acer's non-24-hour support.... all that.  So I will end up not sending it in while I'm in warranty ;)  I am smart, yes.  Yessss....  If our TAT is so bad with notebook repairs, I can't even begin to imagine Acer's.

Boo. I'm going to need to purchase new earphones. The left one in these is shorting out. Ah well, they've lasted me like 4-5 months, I'd say that's decent life for 15$ ear buds.

Tiiiired.
Hating work lately, but I think I will survive. We have a rather shiny four-day weekend coming up right quick- Thanksgiving and the day after OFF!!!

YAAAAAY. Paid days off are sweet.

YAY!! Passing by BPAL's site and poking at the new scents since brokeness, I see:

GINGERBREAD POPPET 2007.

YAY!!

My favorite is the '05 version. I love, love, love, love Poppet 05. They didn't make it in '06, which made me sad.

I also see an EGG NOG 2007 which sounds delightful. ROSE RED 2007 will be bought.

I'm also waiting for Valentine's Day, to see if they bring Parlement of Foules back.

Ahhhhh, beautiful classics!

Anyone else excited for the Halloween/Yule scents? I wish the prices hadn't gone up [these are all 17.50 - 18.00 per 5ml bottle] but I understand why they have. Even so!

So my mother randomly texts me:

"I just realized something while talking to a customer...When i was preg with you even the smell of cig smoke used to make me throw up so i quit..."

"Then after i had you i started smoking and was still nursing you...You got colic and cried all the time so i had to put you on formula. What a pill!"

"And even to this day you Bitch about my smoke!"

;D I started whining about it early.

So yesterday was not all that interesting, but I enjoyed it anyway.
Bobby had to work, so I went out to get some yarn and knitting needles, which NO ONE has anymore, I guess. I did find some- got some nice microfiber black and purple to make him a scarf, and a thing of cheap boucle that's a cute purple gradient, as well as 2 sizes of needles- 8 and 10. Happy Kandace with knitty-things to do! Am going to make his scarf black and purple, stripedy. :D Boring garter stitch, as that's really all I can do so far. Will learn more soon.

So yeah, after that, I went to the dollar store to get some decorations for my cube. Got a Jack 'o Lantern candy dish as well as little "vials" with cute things on, saying 'Magic Potion' ... 'Ghost Goo' ... 'Bat Wings' ... things like. Super-cute! also got some Winnie the Pooh stickers for decorating things. I put several on my lappy. I enjoy them as they are sparkly!! :D I'm reminded of the fact that I need canned air though, because my lappy needs cleaning.

Came home and entertained myself, because neither of the boys were home. First time I'd been home alone in...couple months I think? Did a couple loads of dishes and played Guitar Hero for a few hours, then chilled with some Ramen and my lappy at the table by the kitchen. For dinner just before the boys got home, I made rice with some stuff to go on...turkey and chopped onions in ginger/teriyaki/soy sauce. Yum yum!

This morning, for "breakfast" at about 1/2PM, I made french toast, which we had with real maple syrup, as usual, and some coffee with chocolate-raspberry creamer. Yumm.

So, not doing much currently. Chillin' with music.

So, tomorrow marks the beginning of October. Finally! The part of the year I love. I've been waiting for it for months now. I just looked at the weather forecast for the next 10 days and it's all 50s-60s, at least 40% precip. Lovely! Welcome back, Oregon. I've missed the 'real you' this summer, as always.

Perhaps others aren't quite as enthusiastic about the weather as I am. I don't know. I love it though ;)

Weekend was rather uneventful, but completely enjoyable to me. I spent it right where I wanted to be- with my boy. :) Not rare as of late, but still glorious.

Now I get a new schedule at work. 10-7 mon-fri. Not too bad. Only one hour off what I've been the past few months, which was 11-8 until this past couple weeks of training/streamline. Not too far off his new one either :)

Thanks a lot, LJ.
I made it most of the day- until 9:25 exactly- without realizing or caring what day it is.

Now I go back to not caring, and wading through all the 9/11 posts to get to things I actually kinda somewhat care about.

I empathise.
