that episode is in this weird place where it's like... not as terrible as expected and as such I CAN'T YET TELL HOW I FEEL. I am pretty sure it was still fairly terrible of course.

- the opening sequence was cute and made me lol. 'what kind of idiot', what indeed gallifreyan scrap yard owners
- Clara's cute outfits
- Clara generally being kinda cute
- the Doctor said he listens to River and is always there for her. aww sometimes if you squint you can almost convince yourself he likes her.
Things I sorta didn't
- Strax
- the plot was kinda fucking stupid... why does the GI care so much jeez? one minute he's talking about the Doctor being ~blood-soaked~ and the next he's doing his darndest to try and destroy everything
- not a lot happened on screen. I guess it couldn't... the bad CGI proved that inserting Clara/Richard E Grant into classic doctor who looks ridiculous, but it meant a lot of it was just the stars vanishing and then Strax and Jenny and all that. telling not showing, basically. I spent a lot of the episode being like GET ON WITH THE WORLD SAVING and then the actual world saving (or Doctor-saving) was a bit anti-climatic
- 'spoilers'? really? is the fucking river plot not done yet?
- but seriously, the whole plot... I am so confused.
- and did it actually end?
- no DT or BP in the unreleased last five minutes. gdi I was hopeful. weirdly hopeful given how much I hate that they're in the 50th
- including all the classic docs here makes it double-douchey to not include them in the 50th
- now the smaller grievances: I like Clara talking about her mum but I'm on the 'whut?' side when it comes to that souffle line SRY CLARA
- 'conference call'? time travelling in dreams? clara being drugged without any consent?
- strax
- River has the worst life
- 'won't hurt a bit' 'OW' 'I lied'
- there was a lot of attempts at build up... like the Doctor crying (although the music in that scene was perfect) that I just like... gave no fucks about.
- trying to make me care about the fate of vastra and strax is not happening, although I did 'aww' at Jenny
- 'surrender your women and intellectuals' YOU'RE A CLONE RACE WHY DO YOU WANT THE WOMEN
- 'doctor who?' i stg i will hurt someone
- it was very moffat... it was effectively closing a time loop. nobody died. nothing made sense.
Things I that I am... somewhat conflicted/confused about
- the last scene... idk for a moment there I WAS KINDA DIGGING IT? 'the name you choose it's like a promise you make ... he's the one who broke the promise' Moffat understands the really important thing about the Doctor's name THIS IS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. Buttt... if John Hurt is a Time War Doctor then this takes a turn for stupid. Idk I don't care that much. I am just so pleasantly surprised by the Doctor choosing his name being the important bit to take from this.
- Clara saving everyone... this is mostly on the REALLY FUCKING STUPID side of things when I try and make sense of it because of just... millions of Clara's running around every possible adventure. but I guess when it comes down to it she's still an ordinary woman who risks her life to make this choice and that's better than what I expected

I'm looking for the fic Meet the Family by Druantia. It was in fanfiction.net, but it isn't there anymore.
It is a Jack/Ianto fic, in which Jack meets Ianto's family.
I've never read it but I really want to so, if any of you knows where I can read it or has it and can email it to me I'll appreciate it!

I know most of you on here barely tolerate me. I rarely interact with most of you, so it's not like I blame you for not giving two shits about me.
However, it's come to the point where this really bothers me.
So, I'm thinking about starting a new LJ and closing this one down.
This is not trying to elicit sympathy or guilt, just kinda letting you all know what I'm feeling and thinking.
And if you wonder to where I've gone, now you know.
At least for a little while. I don't think I could ever leave 'elizabuffy' for too long!
