This is the 3-4 week old stray kitten that I am adopting from work tonight... her name is going to be Sansa (After Sansa Stark from George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire). She has a bit of an upper respiratory infection, but she's going to be okay. :)

Wow, I haven't updated in three months. Things have been really hard lately, and so much has happened. I really regret losing contact with a lot of you. I'm definitely not mad at anyone and it's nothing personal. I needed to take time to get my crap together again, and re figure out what's important to me. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry to everyone I've let down or made worry. :(
I really don't want to talk about it anymore than that. Things are looking up again for me now though, don't worry. I didn't die, get a divorce, give up lolita, or any other crazy thing people are lying about XD
For Kumoricon, Debra, Annie and I all worked really hard on Magic Knight Rayearth costumes. In the end, we won best adult group for all of our hard work :) Debra was able to hook us up with a professional photoshoot with Darkain! What do you think?

I didn't even know there was a community for this. Me and my friend Jess had been meaning to take a picture in the bathroom of the Sears Tower. That didn't happen, but it happened in the bathroom of the Asgard in Cambridge. I'm on the right!
And then, of course, other ladies joined in, including the fabulous anodynefaerie. She's behind Jess (the blonde in the white shirt) in the first photo and CENTER STAGE in the bottom pic.

Earlier in the spring I believe I posted a few pictures of baby whooping cranes from the ultralight migration program(Operation Migration)
They're about four and a half months old now, adolescent and still adorable. They have baby fuzz on their face!
Here's photos of two of them. When they're adults they're bodies will be completely white, with black tipped wings.

(Poor 811 will be going to the Milwaukee Zoo, as she got attacked by 810, and got her primaries damaged, so she won't be able to fly well enough in time for the migration)

We've had him three weeks now. My niece found him but my sister-in-law developed a sudden allergy to cats and nixed her keeping him. The original plan was for my husband and I to nurse him into independent kittyhood and find him a suitable home, since we're currently renting and wanted to wait until we bought our house before getting a cat. But, ha, like there was ever a chance we wouldn't keep him.
So he's permanently ours, the little heartbreaker. It's hard to guess his age, but we're thinking by now he's about 7-9 weeks.

So I'm on a mission to work out everyday and set out my plan to loose 20 pounds. I was doing good for about 2 weeks than got off track but now I'm back on. I have a lil over a month to loose about 10 pounds. I bought this friggin adorable dress to wear on our 2 year anniversary. Its sooooo cute and I want to look good in it. No, I'm going to look good in it. I feel motivated but the goal is to stay motivated. I really want to get a diet pill but I'm not sure what to try. Anyone have any tips? And don't say alli. Eww. So far my eating habits consist of special K w/ soymilk in the morning, a protein shake for lunch, and then a nice homecooked portioned meal for dinner. If I'm hungry in between those times I'll usually eat a piece of fruit or some pretzels. And I'm making sure to drink lots of water. I really want to stick with this routine atleast for a month. I'm pretty positive ill see results. I just must stay on track. MUST STAY ON TRACK!! MUST STAY ON TRACK!! I can do this. I'm going to do this. Sometimes I wish I had a workout partner but I guess that's what I have buddy for.

I'll finally update about my trip to Texas. Funny thing is, I'm only updating about it to say I wish I was still there. Well, not necessarily just Texas, I wish I was anywhere right now. Remember an entry I did months ago saying how I loved the idea of traveling but never could because I don't do well in unfamiliar places? Well, that wasn't the case this time. I had an absolute blast. Maybe it's because I was surrounded by so many familiar faces from California, and we were all in this different place together. Or maybe it was that I fell in love with the fact that I was 1,000 miles away from everything I stress about, worry about, make myself go mad over. No work, no school, no internet! I was completely disconnected from my bubble back in California and I didn't miss it at all. I want to travel more, be in that place more, that place where nothing matters except where you're at and what you're doing at that exact moment. Nothing in your "normal life" has any relevance. It's such a liberating feeling.
But now I'm back to my old life, the old everyday thing. Back to work, back to school. I hate it. I'm over my sign language. Ever since we got our Deaf teacher it feels like the whole class is a struggle rather than enjoying learning the language. I actually thought that maybe this would be something I'd really be interested in pursuing, but it just turns out that it stresses me out just like everything else I once thought I'd like to do. Everything's so blah since I got back. Even my ( outfits ) are blah (but I'll still post them, haha!) Maybe my sister not being here is throwing me off. I don't know. but enough of this sob entry-- here's some visuals from my adventures down south! ( yeehaw! )

Off to Canada tomorrow for a month. I'm excited but nervous because, and I've probably already mentioned this before but...I hate airports! They make me nervous. Either way, so happy I'll be seeing my boyfriend for his birthday and spending Halloween with him! I miss him lots. The last time I updated I mentioned about the whole volunteering thing + starting school in January + still not being able to find a job. Nothing has changed in that regard, haha. Going to seriously sell my soul for a job, any job, when I get back from Toronto.
Still packing but I'm almost done. :o I am totally going to forget something important, I know it! Always happens. Oh well though. :D
In WoW related news...my holy paladin got more t6 and I finally got her a damn ram mount from Brewfest! She looks so pretty. I have an obsession with mounts and pets, like...probably 90% of girls that play wow. Sue me. ;D Since my guild is currently getting lazy about raiding, I think I'm just going to farm rep and gold until WOTLK comes out. I want the damn caravan mammoth mount, even if it's 20k gold. I already pre-ordered my collector's edition of WOTLK too! So all I've got left to do is farm, farm, farm. Oh...and I GUESS work on my alts. :o
