fuck the world (side a)


Someone told me a while back about desireways, a term coined by a landscaper way back when. Pathways are paved, say, through a campus park, usually forming square shapes in the land like regular roads, meant to bring you cleanly from one place to another. But students in this park may tread a new route, a short cut perhaps, across from one path to another (a desireway.) And more and more students walk this path, because it is faster, though unintended.
Eventually the path gets muddy, and the grass gets ruined, and the park isn't as pretty as it was before. When you walk the desireway your shoes get stained, and your socks get wet. When you walk from it to another path or into a home, the dirt trails you. And maybe you won't get invited back because you make a mess wherever you go.

I could continue on about taking the easy way out. I could talk about not caring enough about much of anything; and of avoidance, always cutting corners in life.
But I'm really quite busy mapping out a new route and patching the grass.

03. I love the people of Stoneham. I don't really like to think of my life without how they make me smile.
04. My computers are dead. I am in a library
05. I got into photo II, and one of my photographs is going to the boston globe show competition! This is a big thing for me.
06. lack of ambition. lack of time for ambition.
07. Feb. 4th &5th: heading to washington dc for a convention...with my teacher. & Willy.
08. March: No classes for 23 days. Going to be in London for 10 of them. Working. Going to Philly &NYC. Working.
09. I am trying very hard not to let anyone down, and keeping with the seemingly endless flow of traffic.
10. Boyfriend is wonderful. A good thing to keep me going lately, he is. We've been snowed in my house the past three nights and four days. We watched Barbershop two consecutive times in a row. Note to self: Own more than one shitty dvd.
11. I have to get down to Providence soon.
12. I'm worried about my Citrone. veryvery worried.
13. Hard drugs are so evil. See above.
14. LANGE IS BACK IN TOWN!
15. I have many photographs to upload. When my computer is back.
16. conclusion on the movie The Village: worth seeing to make your own. have to get the film score for this. violins.!
17. don't forget to call your brother more often.
18. As always, letters pending delievery. & a package for Calvin Johnson.

Um, the Spinelli sisters are mine. There's only so much ego massaging to go around.

And I love desireways. They're the path of freedom. Architects, planners, build a pretty walkway. But it doesn't work. It gives me hope when we can escape from the penopticon for a moment and walk where we shouldn't because it makes more sense.

It's not the easy way out, it's breaking out of the straightjacket. Don't let them convince you otherwise.

this is random. and i know this is really old,
but..i just noticed you on someone's friends list that i know now
& i remebered i was lj friends with you soooo long ago.
