joyful noise [Monday November 14th, 2005 at 6:23am] [mood: ecstatic.] [music:Celebrate me home stuck in my head] So here it is, the review: [boring stuff 1st]- My mom started driving me up there @ 5:45, & it took us the shortest time it has ever taken us to get there,a measly 20 minutes. So I was early, but there was already a long line formed around the building. So I got out & waited in line with woman in their 40's-50's I felt so out of place, not to mention I was FREEZING. Because I was wearing a skirt. Anyways, they told us about 20 times, no flash, no flash. So I got in with my camera,got a shirt[the black one],a keychain & a photo [i didnt have enough $ for the program , how lame is that!] So I walked around a little then found my seat. I was seriously,spasming, I was SO.DAMN.CLOSE. So, the lady next to me started talking to me & it turned out it was her 1st clay concert,etc. Shortly after lights went down & i started freaking out. William Joseph [his opening act] came on, & was AMAZING. One heck of a piano player. He is also from Phoenix it turns out. He was very funny & "happy to be home" Then a short intermission,people started cheering for Clay & Then he came out, narrarting the "play" he had created, dressed in an all white tux he looked amazing. [Sorry,i can't really remember everything he sang] But I think he opened with Merry Christmas with love. BEAUTIFUL. He went on to sing alot of the song from his album, & I was just staring at him the whole time,in awe of his amazing voice & in awe of how beautiful he is, so CLOSE. He sang sleigh ride shortly after which I thought was adorable,his little jestures & smiles were freaking to die for.hah CELEBRATE ME HOME was just. AMAZING. No other word to describe it, his, whatever you call it, "twangy-ness" was AMAZING. & OMG. Exactly why I love the man, put into one song. & Thats when JOHN DAHLSTROM came out! I was freaking out as was (adisneylandgirl we both were trying to get a freakish amount of pictures of him. I got some. The reason i don't remember alot of songs is because i was watching clay the whole time, totally intranced by his voice.hah But When he sang MARY DID YOU KNOW I was tAIKEN [..yes!]. Everyone was just,jawdropped,in awe. It was quite amazing. Everyone was polite,no big screams or anything,polite claps, like Clay wanted Angela,Quianna & Jacob sang while clay sat gleaming from the set of the church. It was very cute. They were all amazing,of course. More of the songs foucused on the play [i can NOT believe clay wrote all of that in a short amount of time] The BEST part was when the little boy [thomas] was talking about how he sang in the talent show & said he came in 2nd place & then he said "my mom said its not that bad .. i can turn out like that clay aiken guy" hah. IT WAS AWESOME. Then, of course, the joy surely has to end somewhere, he sang DON'T SAVE IT ALL FOR CHRISTMAS DAY, the glory note, probably the best i've heard, his expression while doing it, even better. Clay introduced the band, introduing william as the phoenix boy, happy to be back home. Before that there was an audio recording of clay saying "Thanks for being a part of our family//my blessing" I was like "OMG, IF I DONT CRY NOW I WILL SOON." hah. Then Jacob,Quiana & Angela came out & JACOB WAS RIGHT BY ME[well right by sarah (adisneylandgirl =P)] They sang GOOD NEWS, & of course, you all know they end with. beck concert. its a public entry. [Saturday October 29th, 2005 at 9:17pm] [mood: impressed.] [music:Rough Jem - Islands] Finally, the BECK REVIEW! Newspaper review of the Beck concert: http://www.azcentral.com/ent/music/articles/1029beckreview.html So what, a guy hit his guitar with a fucking glow stick, this writer is an idiot. ANYWAYS... We left around 5, got to the fair, & Alli & I got lost because the collesium is all the way around back. We found it, & Whilst we were walking up to it, the kid in my science class comes skipping up the ramp saying "I love Beck!" it was awesome. So we get it, complain how old it is, how crappy it is, [THE MONKEES PLAYED THERE!] Then we got up & got shirts [ I got this kick ass black one & buttons] .. they didnt have a very huge selection though :[ (4 shirts!) Then we walked aorund & found our seats. okay..floor..sorta far back though. So, the opening band ISLANDS[the ex-Unicorns!] Were amazing! I had never heard of them but I want their cd ♥ [if they have one] They had violins & guitars & it was just cool. like beck. Then, the master of all, Mr.Beck came on, opening with Loser & mayhem broke loose, everyone was singing screaming Loser & He was eating it up. Everyone knows Loser =P Then after that lovelyness, he sang Black Tambourine & THE TAMBOURINE MAN [as me & alli call him] came out & shook that thing like no other. Its my favorite song on Guero so I was hyped & saying all the words. Everyone was jumping,having a great time. Then Devils haircut..I loved the screaming at the end. Que ondo guero, was so great, funny. I have a new-found love for that song, beck is just a master. The New pollution, one of my favorite beck songs, he seemed so happy & into his "groove" now. Then he did this thing where he said "Turn on some weather music".. & continued to tell us what our weather for today was. Haha. He's like "ohhhh yeah" it was great. Sand Jackass, I love that song now! I'm addicted. Sang go it alone, I knew the song but forgot the title. ugh. Sang HotWax [i think?] It was way cool. The energy at Beck shows is so hard to explain I can't sum it up. But there were people of ALL AGES there & the energy was amazing. Sang Hell Yes with a little variation. WHERE ITS AT! which is completly my FAVORITE BECK SONG EVER. Still is, Alli's too. the people around us were jumping & so were we. Sang broken drum which I also love, I love Beck's slower songs. Sang PURPLE RAIN [by Prince] asked an audience member to come up & I was freaking out screaming.hah This girl came up & he had her pump some kind of Indian organ. It was great, he was like "Push harder...yeah..thats it..harder} & Everyone was cheering for our perverted minds & sexual induendo. Then he started singing purple rain & then said "Prince must be crying somewhere.." he's so damn funny. Then after that the girl was still pumping the organ & he was like "Okay..thats enough humping & pumping..this has gone way too far" hah. Then he asks her name & she responds & he says "Okay..thank you Darlene Nikki" haha. Prince references ♥! Sang right after that Guess I'm doing fine, which is my favorite beck song '[okay okay shush, ive said it before i know] But around that time the people around us started smoking pot, & passed it around. it stunk so damn bad & mad me mad, but beck, hello. I was focused on the man. Lost Cause next, another amazing slow beck song. Freaking love the lyrics. Sang Debra acoustic which I had been hearing about before, & CLEARLY lived up to its expectations, it was AMAZING. even when talking hes so damn cool. "Treat you with respect girl, you know i've got alot of class.." Then he said " "Girl..ive been trapped in this closet..ive been trapped her in this closet! Like R.Kelly..except the song I wanna sing for you girl doesnt have .... 17 parts & .. 7 videos to go along." It was halarious. Then he freestyled on turntables, amazing. Even rapping, he's the only good white rapper. ever.. Then the secuirty guard yelled at me for my camera :[ Beck sang sexx laws WHICH I NEED TO DOWNLOAD//GET! amazing. Witty too. Then, a newfound favorite of mine CLAP HANDS the whole clapping hands was amazing. I love the lyrics too. I can't wait for guerolito ♥. Then he ended with Epro, AM-AZING! truly amazing. Like loser it felt like an energy bomb went off, everyone was pumped. Then he said [somewhere along these lines] : "The state fair..I'd like to thank.. my grandma.." haha. & He asked us how the fair was. His laugh is so cute. His smile is even more amazing. He should do it more often. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A BECK FAN. you should be =P he's truly a musical genius ♥. Now I want to go to another Beck concert. NOW =P && what you've been waiting for..
