holy god
I just stood up for myself to my father, for the first time ever, and now I feel like barfing. He called to see if he, his wife, and their family could take me out for dinner for my graduation and I informed him that I graduate in a few days, so I already made plans which he decided to not participate in. I also told him that he could take me out for dinner when we get back from my trip, but I don't want to be around his wife because I know what she says about me and I wouldn't feel comfortable. WHOA. I deserve 200 gold medals for this!

This week is going to rule so hard because I don't have to see my step mom except for a minute at my graduation! But also, I get to work tonight and tomorrow during the day, burn a couple of screens (offsides shirt and ripshit patches), spend Wednesday with Fred (hiking, free vegan food at Cafe 9, free pizza at BAR), have band practice, play a show and eat a vegan potluck, see Max, graduate, go out for dinner with my favorite family members at Its Only Natural, go shopping at Whole Foods, have a party thrown in my honor and go to another show! HECK YEAH.

----

also, I sometimes can't wait to go away, away, away.

boy, do I ever understand how hard it can be to confront a fucked up parent. you receive my greatest respect and many congratulations. keep at it- it gets easier! my therapist pointed out to me once- it often feels harder to change your behavior to alter a situation, but ultimately it will make your life easier.

Hi! I'm Caren's (and probably a bunch of other people we both know like Max) friend. Sorry I haven't said hi yet. I went to ECA like 4 years ago, have almost always lived in CT and I'm working/living in New Haven this summer (for Explo, please don't hate me).

I was just at ION last week. I loved it there 2 years ago but it's getting yuppier every time I go... Last time I was there they really skimped on the sweet potato fries, and the wall art was really really shitty. The prices went up again, and the waitresses just looked plain distasteful and exposed. It was really disappointing. Boo.

I hope you have a better time and congrats on graduation!

oh hi! I didn't know who you were, but now I do, so that rules! Welcome to New Haven!

I always go to ION for any celebratory occasion but you're totally right about the yuppie-fication. It is getting really expensive, too, even though it was always too rich for my blood. I'm just siked that my parents are paying! I must admit that I always think the waitresses are super hot.

and thanks!
