Current Music: Blondie- I Know but I don't know
If, thou mortal goods, thou art bereft, And from thou slender store two loaves alone to thee are left, Sell one and from the dole, But Hyacinths to feed the soul.

Muslih-uddin Sadi, 1184- 1291

If I had two loaves of bread, I would see one of them and buy white hyacinths for my soul.

Elbert Hubbard, 1856- 1915

I love those quotes.
I just cleaned my room and I feel fantastic.

I love you Cat Power

Dear Chan Marshall, you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

You are the embodiment of those ideals that I had temporarily forgotten. You have created pure and beautiful things that are genuine through and through, giving me hope that I may still have experiences unadulterated by cynicism and detachment. had I'm not even jaded by the stereotype of sad pretty girl. I love that you're bat shit crazy, loping around the stage like Gollum, but the voice that float out from the speakers is the truest I've ever heard in my life.

Current Music: black lips!

Today was my second day at work. Unlike my previous jobs, I'm looking forward to it. The office/studio is small and cute- my favorite part is the skylight. It's in Midtown on Piedmont, close to lots of restaurants. It's a old-timey storefront  next to Smith's Olde Bar (where Bowie has supposedly played) and Cowtipper's. I guess I'm mostly just excited because I actually kinda know how to get around.

So, I'm spending the summer listening to my iPod and making models, priming surfaces for painting, more scanning, and helping Lee expand her office into computer stuff, basically rebuilding up her firm to get clients again after her baby hiatus. It's like doing studio, but being paid for it, and way less pressure. It's only me and her - the nicest lady I have ever met- she even made me a key where I have the place to myself on Wednesdays. The only thing that kills is commuting an hour from Alpharetta in the blazing heat in a van with no radio, cd player, or decent a/c- though I'm getting used to driving. I'm considering taking MARTA again and walking on some of the days. It's only a 1.4 mile walk, most of it through Ansley Park. I'd rather walk for 40 minutes than sit for 60.

And,the miracles of all miracles- Carlos actually checked his email (!)  to actually reply back to me asking him about summer work. So far I have an invitation to his construction site and no address. Ha. No expectations, but I would love love love to trek around with Carlos on site or in his office/house, meeting his artist and musician friends. Too bad the Black Lips are on tour all summer.

Current Music: Nude- Yann Fripp remix

Did everyone else know about this already?
from the page

"Radiohead, iTunes and GarageBand are giving you the opportunity to remix the band's new single 'Nude'.

To make remixing easy, the separate 'stems'* from the song are available to purchase from iTunes _here_. The 'stems' available are bass, voice, guitar, strings/fx and drums. You can mix them in any way you like, either by adding your own beats and instrumentation, or just remixing the original parts.

If you purchase all five 'stems' from iTunes during the first week they're available, you'll be sent an access code to a GarageBand file ready to open in GarageBand or Logic. However, you don't need GarageBand to do a remix, all the stems are in iTunes Plus format and compatible with several music software platforms. The GarageBand file will be emailed out on April 11th.

Finished mixes can be uploaded _here_ where the public will listen and vote for their favourite remix (voting ends May 1st). You can also create a widget allowing votes from your own website, Facebook or MySpace page to be counted as 'mix votes' back on radioheadremix.com. Radiohead will listen to the best remixes."

I thought they were all anti- iTunes but maybe not.

This remix of Nude puts it is perspective, is a hipster- oh- so ironic way but I actually found RadioheadRemix via his blog. http://www.hipsterrunoff.com/ which is entertaining, at least to me because I am lame. Like hipster perez this is.  The blogger may or may not be the asian guy from The Teenagers. idk. Did you know that Elodie Bouchez is married one of the guys from Daft Punk? not I. mmmmmm more pop culture rot to distract me from doing anything for realz this summer

i've never seen silence of the lambs

I woke up early this morning because I kept having the same set of unpleasant dreams, not a nightmare but of concerns of petty personal insecurities that I can't quite understand, of things that shouldn't affect me. As my eyes are getting clearer, the image in the mirror is growing dimmer. I've gotten to be such a naysayer. What happened?
