I'm late to the party, but ohwell
This is my little preview for my thelittlebang  entry. The preview is 1225 words long. The first half is from Blair's POV, while the second is from Serena's POV. That's how my whole story is built up, the POV's change over chapter.  The story is historical, and is set in the 1500's England. I am no expert in history, so I apologize for all the mistakes that I have made.

She had also become the closest thing to a friend I had ever had. After that fateful day when almost everyone was ill. We had had the whole week to ourselves. During that week, I found out that Serena was truly pure. Naïve, even. But it was so refreshing to see that. To see someone that wasn’t bitter. To see someone who’s only goal wasn’t to reach as high as possible.

I stood up, and noticed some people glancing my way, waiting for me to say something to them. “Madame Archibald,” I said, smiling. She looked up at me, her head tilted a little. It took me all of my willpower not to sigh at that image. “Would you accompany me to my privy chamber?”

Without waiting for her answer, I turned around and walked through the doors that were off limit to most of the court. The only people allowed there were myself, the King and some of my maids. Everyone else had to be invited in.

I heard the door being closed a few moments after I stepped into the room, and turned around. “Leave us,” I told the few maids, who were in the room. They curtsied and left in a hurry. “I have something for you,” I said as I looked at Serena.

“Your majesty?” she questioned, stepping closer to me.

“It’s just a little something I thought you would look beautiful in.” I walked over to my bed and lifted up a gown made of cloth of gold. I walked over to Serena and held the gown out in front of her, while my body pressed slightly into hers. “I think you might have to have it tailored a little, you’re taller than me. My tailors will do it.”

Serena turned her head a little, I think she wanted to look at me, and her lips were just a few inches away from mine. I heard her sigh, ever so softly. “Thank you,” she whispered. “It’s very generous of you, Your Majesty.”

I caught myself staring into her eyes. I had noticed her golden hair the first time I met her, as her French hood was almost always pushed back a little, a lot like mine; I had noticed her laugh, how it was contagious and how it made me smile every single time; but I hadn’t noticed her eyes before. It was almost like they were violet. “You are the sunshine of my court. I want you to look the part.”

She placed her hands onto the dress, our fingertips touching ever so lightly, and looked down at the fabric again. “I’m not sure how I could repay you for this.”

“Just wear it tonight. And dance with me.”

Serena nodded, as I stepped away from her. “I’ll try, if it pleases Your Majesty.”

*******

I had really started to enjoy my life at court. It was a little like my life in the country, only with less studying. There were endless dances that lasted into the early morning hours. When the weather was still good, the Queen often took us out hunting with the King’s men, and even sometimes by ourselves. She taught me how to ride in the men’s saddle, much to my husband’s and sister’s dismay. It was obvious that I was her favorite lady in waiting.

I had grown so accustomed to the busy life of the court, having so many people around me at all times, that when the outbreak of the sweating disease happened, I was truly shocked. So many people actually left court, so many of them died. Finally we moved to the Woodstock Palace. The place looked shabby compared to all of the other royal palaces.

As more and more people left the court, I became scared. I had never seen anything like this before. On our last day in London, I saw that the streets were full of bodies. The smell of vinegar had been horrible. I was afraid of dying. I knew I wasn’t ready for death yet. I had my whole life ahead of me. I wanted to still do so many things. I still wanted to see the Queen.

But even thought the court was small, I still enjoyed it a lot.  It seemed that a lot of the times I was in the center of the attention. I knew how to gamble well, and my singing voice was said to be beautiful. I also liked to make jokes, when I noticed that people were looking too down.

I did all this to impress the Queen.

One afternoon, just as I was laughing at my husband’s very stupid joke, the Queen stood up and spoke. “Madame Archibald.” My head shot up, and I looked at her, with my head cocked to the side a little.

“Would you accompany me to my privy chamber?”

I blinked a few times, not really believing what I just heard. Being invited into the Queen’s private chambers was a great honor. I stood up from my seat, and headed to the doors that the Queen had just walked through. I didn’t dare to look at my sister, because I was certain that I would have just gotten a nasty look from her.

As I walked into her rooms, the doors closed behind me. I saw the Queen waving off few maids, and then she turned to me. I bit my lower lip. She always seemed so confident. But then again, everyone did what she told them to do. Even the most powerful man in the whole kingdom, one of the most powerful men in the whole Christendom, acted like a little lap dog around the Queen.

“I have something for you.”

What could she possibly have for me? “Your majesty?” I questioned, as I stepped closer to her.

“It’s just a little something I thought you would look beautiful in.” I watched her walk over to her bed, and then she lifted up a gown made of cloth of gold. I had seen her in the gown before. On the first day when we were alone, she wore the same gown. She looked absolutely angelic in it. No, she had looked like an angel in it.

She held the gown out in front of me, while her body pressed into my back slightly. “I think you might have to have it tailored a little, you’re taller than me. My tailors will do it.”

I turned my head a little, as I wanted to look at her. I noticed how our lips were just a few inches apart. I wanted to press my lips to hers. But I knew I couldn’t do that. I sighed, softly. “Thank you,” she whispered. “It’s very generous of you, Your Majesty.”

I caught her staring into my eyes. I felt myself not being to breathe. “You are the sunshine of my court. I want you to look the part.”

Was I really her sunshine? That thought made me smile. She looked down at the gown, and put my hands onto the silky fabric. Our fingertips touched on the fabric. “I’m not sure how I could repay you for this.”

“Just wear it tonight. And dance with me.”

I swallowed, and stepped away. I nodded, with a smile on my face. “I’ll try, if it pleases Your Majesty.”

Awesome
This is kinda like the Tudors! omg I love it please update this story soon. Can't wait for more I wonder who the King is [Chuck] lol or a random guy. Though I fear this story maybe a tragedy because back then Homosexuals weren't accepted unless it was kept a secret. If you watch the Tudors they have men with men but they never can speak of it. The wife of one of the men found out but instead of saying anything she said that he slept with his sister to damn him.
