The Table
As a little girl, Blair loved Disney’s fairy tales. Each night, Dorota read her one, when she was tucked in. With each night, she fell more and more in love with them.
She loved how the princes of the stories were always perfect gentlemen and so charming. Just like her dad. The princes always went to their princess’ aid. They never left a damsel in distress.
But the most amazing thing to Blair was that just within a moment, they fell in love. Their kisses always seemed so perfect. Binding.
That’s why her favorite story was Sleeping Beauty. The prince fought a dragon, just to save
She thought of herself as
Their first kiss was a big disappointment to Blair. Neither she or Nate knew exactly what to do, plus he had just started to grow some facial hair and it prickled. The kiss was really sloppy.
After their first kiss Blair thought and hoped that the kisses would get better. But to her annoyance they never really get better. If anything, they only got worse.
After a while, Blair started wondering if it was because of Nate.
At that thought, she got scared.
She was supposed to spend the rest of her life with Nate. She was supposed to kiss him for years and years to come. She was supposed to lose her virginity to him, eventually. And if the kissing was already bad, what was sex supposed to be like?
Kissed other boys when she sometimes played spin-the-bottle, but those kisses felt just as bad, if not even worse, if that was possible, as Nate’s kisses. She blamed awkwardness for that.
Every once in a while she kissed some girl when playing spin-the-bottle. Those kissed felt different, but she never dwelled on them for long. Girls were for practicing kissing. She was sure that even
And really, Blair thought one day, if she’s going to spend the rest of her life together with someone, the personality matters. But as she thought about it, Nate’s personality wasn’t that great either.
When they broke up, despair filled Blair. She felt like everything she had been working for her whole life was gone. There would be no happy ending to her fairy tale. Her prince didn’t love her. Her prince didn’t care enough.
At that moment, she didn’t feel like Sleeping Beauty. She didn’t even feel like one of the fairies. She felt like some random servant that was always in the background, but no one noticed her.
To her surprise, the first person to make her feel like a princess again was Chuck. He gave Blair jewelry and said all the right things.
Granted, the kissing wasn’t much better. And, oh God, she lost her virginity in a limo. It was nothing like she had planned. It was disappointing.
One rainy afternoon, she received the surprise of her life. She had just told Serena how kissing Chuck really wasn’t all that good either, when the blonde grabbed her face and kissed her hard on the mouth.
The kiss was just like she imagined
There was no award facial hair. Their noses didn’t bum against each others. When Serena put her hand onto Blair’s cheek, it didn’t feel rough or out of place. It felt like it belonged there.
When they finally had sex, it was simply amazing. Neither of them really knew what to do, yet there was no awkwardness. It seemed to Blair that her body fir perfectly with Serena’s.
As a child Blair dreamed that she would end up with prince charming one day. But instead, she found her very own princess charming. And it really didn’t matter that Serena was a girl, because after all, she didn’t make her feel like a princess.
She made Blair feel like she was her queen.
