I finally get my day off after working the weekend.

We had a pretty hard weekend and with us having 6 and 7 patients Saturday and Sunday. I lucked out with having 6 on both of the days. Sunday I had my first patient, a DNR, that died on me. It was sad because I knew this patient from a previous visit and he recognized me when I came in. He said he was glad to have me as a nurse again.

I had to go to work for a little bit today for an equipment rally where we review some of the equipment we use in nursing. I had an ICU nurse that was teaching one of the stations tell me that people were watching me and expecting great things from me, and that one day I'll be charge nurse. I guess the only reason why that is because my older sister is a great RT person there for 10 years. People expect the same for me. I really don't have much self-confidence in myself though.

I had my first oil change today after 9 1/2 months. I really don't drive much.


I finished FFIV some week ago. It was nice to see what Golbez really looked like underneath that armor, and seeing Rosa in this was too cute also.

Today, I was going to take pics of Summoner Yuna at a place at the park this evening, but sure enough it started to rain for the past 2 1/2 hours. Tuna and I won't have time again till another week and a half.


Keyblade Progress. I'm not sure how well the paperclay all over will work, but only one way to find out.

Last Friday morning, I woke up early to fix my hair and take pictures in my MM OP. It was my first time doing my hair besides just curling it. It took me too long though to fix though. I don't mess with hair much since I never really was a girly-girl.

I'm really nervous about driving to Corpus this weekend. My aunt has a banquet there at a hotel because she was selected as national regent (president) of the Catholic Daughters of America. I have no experience driving in big cities, but I gotta learn someday.

Life is busy as usual, or I keep it busy for myself.

School started. I'm back to the second part of GOVT with the same instructor as I had in the spring. It shouldn't be too bad and I figure it will be more interesting to take a GOVT course in election year.

Work is as usual. Stressful. Good days. Bad days. I picked up an extra weekend shift cuz they needed another nurse. Between that and the ACLS class (which was no sweat after all my worriny)I had that one weekend, it has been over a month since I had last had two days off in a row. Thankfully on this coming weekend I'll finally have that break.

I started this out. Which over the years, will focus more on photography and less on cosplay. It's been too long since I've last dealt with html, but I think I'll make it as long as its simple.

This past Monday, I asked Tuna to take pics of me in Rinoa's ballroom dress downtown.

I preordered this VM parasol back in March. It's been 6 months, but I think I'll finally have it in my hands in a week or so. Last week Valli and I got a shipment in. I got the a VM Floral Blue set here.


I think next week we'll take pictures again next weekend. It's been too long.

I woke up Monday morning to a bit of a surprise in the newspaper. There was a photo I took of Valli recently on a small spot in the front page.



So Victoria decided to do a front page article on Lolita today. Pretty surprising for this city.

I was off the previous weekend. On Saturday, I picked up FFIV on the DS. For the rest of the weekend I did nothing but play FFIV with a drive of wanting to see each cutscene and each place in 3D. I really didn't have much of an idea of how it'll be, but I forgot about them having voices, so when the first cutscene appeared I was pretty happy.


They actually had Yang's wife hold the frying pan. How cute is that.

I had raw fish sushi and sea eel for the first time. It wasn't that bad after being dipped in soy sauce.



Progress on Kairi's keyblade. I'm also working on redoing Rinoa's Ballroom dress.

I ordered something else of Lolita. This time to match my VM Classical Doll Dress.

I had thursday off the previous week which was a pretty busy day that I made it to be. I woke up early to take pics of Rinoa outside. My parents had done a new project outside. I especially liked the benches, so I spent some of the time there taking shots with my remote and tripod. The shot that came out here was my favorite.

I bought the fabric by the yard from dream-angels.net since there is nothing that comes close to Rinoa's in this city.

After pictures and breakfast, I went to work cuz we are suppose to get education credits for renewal of our next RN license. I had signed up for a hour and half program that day for the topic of stroke updates. I was glad I went to the office first to ask on information on the credits. I found out that I didn't have to worry about getting credits till October 2009. So not much point in going to the class.

I came home went to the computer looking for updates on the Naruto chapter spoilers. I failed to notice I had a box printed with Mary Magdalene on my bed. So when I did notice, I was pretty happy. It got here 6 days within me making an order for it.



Later that evening I went with Tuna to the park and took pics of Sakura. I've never taken any pics of the costume outside my yard, and its been like 2 years since I worn it.



I had to work 12 hours shifts Sat and Sun. It was a good weekend overall. Sunday the charge nurse had put a new grad with me to orient. Pretty surprising since I have only 6 months experience. She took the whole group so I pretty much did small job for the hall most of the shift. Then towards the end we got real busy since we had so many admissions come in. I'm kinda dreading the rest of this week since the floor is pretty much full. They tried to call me into work yesterday evening on my day off, but no you need your day off. I won't be surprised if I have 6-7 patients today. We usually have 5 on a good day.

I saw Batman yesterday. The Joker is a genious. I was really surprised about Terminator Salvation since I hadn't heard anything about it. Too bad the main actor for it is in jail now.

Yesterday was also the start of registering for college. Only taking one class. Govt 2302.
Completely no rush to get a BA. I'll be getting paid less then what I do now when I teach anyways.

FFIV DS comes out today. I'm not going to be able to get it till Saturday morning though. I still need finish FF3 on both the NES Emulator and the DS, but damn ending dungeon is more difficult than FF1 and FF2's combined on the NES.

I got about a month left before I have devote myself to school again.

This was something I just had to make. I'm finally caught up with One Piece in having all the episodes thanks to new computer and bittorrents not shutting off every two minutes like my other computer.

It feels pretty nice to have a real break from school.
I took photos of a few different costumes the past several weeks.



I wish there was nice pretty beach near here with palm trees. I took my parents to Port Lavaca to visit and we went to see the beach there. I haven't been to that beach since I went for a trip in Kindergarden, but the water smells of chemicals and isn't really pretty, but it has three palm trees.

This is the only progress I made on any cosplay since I last posted. I'm mostly been fixing all of my previous pics of all my costumes. Though, thats done now so I can concentrate more on this.

New computer after 5 years. It's kinda weird though because I wrote a check and they still haven't taken it out of my account and its been like 3 weeks. I'm not complaining.



I wish I could play MGS4 and Sasuke's an idiot.

I had such a crap week with me getting out late at work. Last Wednesday I got out 3.5 hours past my shift ended. It was mainly because since we launched our computer system, and I had to deal with two admissions. I finally had my boss finish this list that was a paper on different skills that I needed other nurses to check me off on. I mentioned my overtime to her, but she said not to worry about it and gave me a pat on the shoulder, and that it’d take a year or so to get a good routine for myself. So work has gotten at least bit less stressful.

I ended up making a C in my government class. A 78.25, which I should have gotten a B, but the past two months of school I just have not felt like studying much at all and did not put much effort into it. My GPA didn't seem to budge from it all. I’ve been studying non-stop since last summer for NCLEX, class. I just want a break, so I finally get one now till school starts in August. I cancelled the ACLS class I was suppose to take at the end of the month and moved it to August.

So now I can finally focus on sewing like I had wanted to for a couple of years.

I spoiled myself for once and bought a few Lolita items more than a week ago. Pics under the cut. I should expect them within less than a month or so.

I took pics of my nephew in his Gaara costume here. He was too cute, but after like 5 shots, he rubbed his eyebrow and smeared the love symbol. I want to take him to the park next time where they have loads of sand.

Yesterday I took my parents to eat at Rockport, TX for Mother’s day. I was kind of scared because I have very little experience driving out of town, and this was a place that neither of my parents knew. The last time I was here was when I was in 6th grade and I got stung by a jellyfish on my arms when I was at the beach with my neighbors.

The city was at least small, and I made it to the city and restaurant I chose which was hidden kind of hidden with no direction from my parents. It was called Paradise Key. The food was really good and the oysters were superb. I wanted to ride on a boat so bad. I’ve never been on one. They had so many around that restaurant place.

I’m still trying to finish Rinoa.

I think work is finally starting to settle for me. I’ve been working on my own since the end of February. I got my 3 month evaluation last week. I went in there expecting a lecture due to me getting too much overtime, but in the end my manager said nothing about that and just said I was doing pretty good for a new graduate and that the things I come to the charge nurse for are appropriate. I guess I’m too harsh on myself.

In less than two weeks, were switching from paper charting to computer and getting new med carts that have 19 inch LCD computer screens and keyboards on them for each of us. It’s pretty sweet. Bad thing is that we have to haul them into each room to give any med. I hope this new system saves us time so we can focus more on patient care.

Finals are in less than two weeks. I can’t wait till it’s all over. I can finally concentrate on sewing and being off school for a few months. Heh...well not really. I signed up to take this 2-day all day course at the college at the end of May as a requirement for any RN that works on a Cardiac/ICU/ER floor. Its Advanced Cardiac Life Support where I’ll have to learn these algorithms and know how much of what med in order to give according to what the heart rhythm is doing. The manager of ICU at our hospital told their two new grads to wait a year before they took it so they can get more experience, but my sister told me I should get it now. That class is going to feel real intimating for me being surrounded by nurses who have way more experience than me. After finals are over I have to start studying for that course so I won’t feel like such a dumbass, then I can enjoy my summer mornings.

I’m slacking a lot in my one class. I think it’s more because I decided not to get a masters, and that I’d just be happy enough with my bachelors since I can still teach LVNs. We have an evening group of LVNs that usually come Mondays and Wednesdays to my floor. It makes me look forward to going to work more.

Cosplay is going too slow. I’m still caught trying to fix photos from the wedding I took.

Sharingan contacts. I just had to.

My first month working as a nurse off orientation has passed. Things are going ok I guess. I had my first medication error during the first week. Due to me thinking the doctor wrote TID, but he meant today. I had no second thoughts about it when I read the order. Crappy handwriting, but no harm to the patient at least. I’m getting out pretty much late every evening, though one day this past week I managed to clock out 13 minutes after my shift ended. I’ve done a bunch of stuff I felt stupid for, but that’s natural for a new nurse.

About two weeks ago, I was asked by my mom’s best friend to take pictures at her son’s wedding. The wedding plans were a bit rushed and had time restraints so they were unable to find a photographer in the end. I accepted because I figured it would be a good experience for me and it would be better than me just sitting there at the wedding. No charge of course because I have very little experience with an external flash and shooting in low light settings. I was real nervous about it. In the end, it was the first wedding I went to that I wasn’t bored at. I wasn’t happy with my shots overall because half of the pictures came out with some blurriness out of the 600+ I took, even with an external flash and new lens that had image stabilizer on it.

I just have a problem with directing and telling people what to do if I don’t know them. I think it’s just me being too shy and not wanting to get in the way at the wedding. Some people were in the way and I just didn’t want to say excuse me or back off and let me through.

And Valli, I failed at curling my hair. I bought the same rollers as you did. I didn’t like any other roller set. I think I just put too much hair in each roll. I only used 10/20. I need to practice more with it when I have time.

I ended up reserving one of the Victorian Maiden parasols. Expensive as hell, but I figured that I ought to spoil myself once in a while. I also bought the offical Tiny Bees for when I redo Yuna Gunner sometime this year. It was something I've always wanted since before the game was released.

My progress on costumes has been speeding up a little since my NCLEX was over with, but it seems now like its more of finding the time to take pictures of them because of work and school and mess up weather days, or me being just too lazy and tired.

Right now, I’m mostly working on redoing Rinoa, the first costume I made. I hope I can have it done in time before the wildflower season is out. I’m just waiting on fabric to get in for the duster and armwarmers and working on remaking the shooting star. I’m making it nearly the same way as I did with Yuna’s staffs.

I had Haku’s two outfits done before mid-February and got pictures taken within the past month. The kimono one was taken just this morning. The park here is pretty. Probably one of the very few things this city is good for.
