I've said it a hundred times before, and I'll say it again.
My life is brilliant,
My love is pure.
My love is pure.
Ahhhhhhh I love it so much here I could explode. The past week has been AMAZZZZINGGGG. Saturday afternoon, AJ, Andy, Dani, Danielle, and I packed up AJ's car and headed to Pittsburgh. After a short, 5 hour stop at the Magee Women's Hospital ER in Oakland (don't worry, it was minor), we went into the crazy 'Burgh. But only after being the only white people in the ER the whole night, taking random pictures, running around the hospital, walking to CVS, making paper airplanes, watching the ENTIRE Silence of the Lambs on TBS, and of course, playing hours of fun filled hospital waiting room toys.

We got into South Side around midnight. IT WAS FUCKING INSANE. I've never experienced anything remotely close to this in my entire life. After driving up and down East Carson Street in bumper to bumper traffic (which was half the fun), for a half hour, we finally parked. There were people everywhere. And I mean like mobs and mobs of black and gold, hardcore Steeler fans.

It was amazing. We walked up and down Carson Street all night. I never gave so many people high fives in my entire life. There were cops everywhere. Laurin came around 1 cause she lives right there in Oakland. The street was flooded with people screaming. There were people hanging out of windows waving Steelers Flags. I swear every horn in Pittsburgh was beeping nonstop. It was such an awesome experience. We stayed until like 2:30AM then headed back to good old Greensburg. We stopped at Sheetz at like 3 right before we gotten to SHU cause everyone was hungry. I ended up not going to bed til 6AM. The excitement and adrenaline in me was absolutely insane.
I slept til noon on Sunday. We all got ready around 5 and went to Andy's house in Connellsville for the Superbowl party. His family is so awesome. They made all hardcore Italian food and it was delicious. We watched the game on a huge TV and it was intense. His parents went CRAZY when the Steelers scored. It was such an awesome experience.
I've never felt that way before. We were right there, so close we were breathing Pittsburgh in. I've never felt the way I did that night. The house literally shook when they won. Everyone was screaming. All 15 of The Gang, the biggest Band-Wagon-Hoppers of all time, hugging and screaming and jumping up and down so excited for a team that only became familiar to us recently. There was nothing else like it. I know, it was just a football game. Just another SuperBowl. It was definitely the first one I ever even fully watched. But there was nothing like it. There was nothing like being that excited and throwing confetti and screaming. There was nothing like seeing AJ a 260 pound, 6 foot teddy bear from Maryland running through the house yelling "I BLEED BLACK AND GOLD." It was awesome.
I am so grateful I live so close to Pitt this year that I could experience it like that. I will never ever forget that weekend.
