Ke$ha's Pee-Drinking Incident Really Pissed Off the Parents Television Council

Angry conservatives give new meaning to "pissing in the wind"

Ke$ha's MTV reality show just got an extra trickle of publicity from an unexpected fount.

Last night on Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life, which airs Tuesdays at 11 p.m., the Warrior princess could be seen drinking her own urine. The pee-sipping has been a major talking point for the series, with the Internet gossip mill first touting the unwholesome scoop back in February. And now, as the Hollywood Reporter points out, Ke$ha's whizz-quaffing has attracted the displeasure of the Parents Television Council, a non-profit profit advocacy group whom you may remember from such indecency complaints as our national war on Janet Jackson's right nipple.

The PTC, whose founder once said on national TV that President Obama looks like a "skinny ghetto crackhead" and whose board includes pop-music punching bag Pat Boone, sent a letter yesterday hipping its supporters to the show's "disgusting, vile content" — just in time for them to presumably watch it. The letter also reportedly spun Ke$ha's wee-wee guzzling as a reason that cable providers should unbundle their channels. "Why should we have to pay for this kind of garbage just so we can get access to Discovery, Disney, or the Golf channel?" the PTC wrote. The group, which describes itself as nonpartisan, also promoted Senator John McCain's unbundling legislation.

Ke$ha has previously said her piss take was a one-off. "I hear it was good for you," she told THR of the water-sports drink. "I’m not good at saying 'no' so I just figure, fuck it, I’ll try anything once. So I tried it. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was pretty gross."

PTC's move, paradoxically giving more attention to that which it condemns, comes after the Catholic League magnanimously gifted David Bowie with an extra day in the news cycle for his latest video, which happens to be titled "The Next Day."

It's unclear how Ke$ha feels about unbundling cable networks, but while it might be an option someday, McCain's bill isn't expected to pass. James Surowiecki, the New Yorker's financial writer, did a great piece a few years ago analyzing the arguments for and against a la carte cable options. In short: Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young and not waste too much time deciding how much each individual cable network is worth to us. It's not like we're flushing our money down the toilet.

A google search reveals that the internet is ablaze with this news right now. Who else but the PTC?!

Jackman covers EW!

Does Hugh Jackman ever slow down? From what we can report, the answer is a definitive no way, mate. For the cover story of our annual Summer Must List issue, EW visited the actor last year on the Sydney set of The Wolverine (in theaters July 26), where Jackman jumped and leapt and charmed his way through a series of seemingly back-breaking stunts that he made look as easy as pie. That’s entertainment — and who embodies the power and pop of summer in the cinema better than Jackman?

This is the epically buff, 44-year-old Australian’s sixth time at bat as Wolverine, and as he tells EW, he wants to make sure fans (and newcomers) walk away from the newest installment better acquainted with the elusive anti-hero than they might have after 2009’s critical dud X-Men Origins: Wolverine. “Somehow the first Wolverine movie ended up looking like the fourth X-Men – just with different characters,” he says. “I left unsure if we’d achieve our goal, which was to make sure people understood my character. This movie will really get to his core.”

Jackman reunited with director James Mangold (who worked with him on 2001’s Kate & Leopold) on a decidedly darker, more artistic approach to the character – this time, we see Logan headed to Japan, where he faces down two villains new to the franchise (The Silver Samurai and Viper), sneaky samurais (yes!), the Japanese mob and a gang of ninjas – on motorbikes! Our feature story gets the scoop on Logan’s new love interest, next summer’s new X-Men installment and some new thoughts from Jackman on Wolverine’s future in movies.

Talk about teamwork.

In the weeks surrounding Angelina Jolie's preventive double mastectomy and subsequent reconstructive surgery, her fiancé, Brad Pitt, served as her No. 1 support.

At the bustling home they share with their six kids in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, "Brad did everything he could to keep things secret and protect Angie," a family insider tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story.

Using early morning appointments and rental cars to avoid discovery, "They really wanted Angie to be able to recover and rest before they shared the story," says the insider.

The actress's medical ordeal only deepened the bond between Jolie, 37, and Pitt, 49, a couple for seven years. Those close to them say the pair's teamwork is always on display, in public and private.

"They are very loving and inspiring to each other, exchanging ideas," says Jeremy Kleiner, a longtime exec at Pitt's Plan B production company and producer on his upcoming movie World War Z.

On-set, "He would light up when his family showed up. It's just a very cool thing to see."

Jose Canseco Bizarrely Announces He’s Charged With Rape, Tweets Accuser Name

Jose Canseco claims he’s been charged with rape — and even named his accuser on Twitter.

The onetime major league baseball star made the revelation on Wednesday in a series of bizarre tweets, many of which he later deleted.

Police in Las Vegas have confirmed that that Canseco is a “person of interest” in an alleged sexual assault investigation, but the District Attorney in Clark County has not formally filed charged against him as of now.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Pacific, Canseco tweeted, “Breaking news this is a first folks las vegas police was just at my house i have been charged with rape by [WOMAN'S NAME] from las vegas.”

The athlete continued to live-tweet the experience while identifying the woman — a seriously questionable decision.

Josh Homme on Nick Oliveri's return to QOTSA: 'It's what it is, not what it was'

Josh Homme has explained how Nick Oliveri came to record with Queens Of The Stone Age for the band's new album '... Like Clockwork'.

The former bassist, who previously worked with Homme in the band Kyuss, left Queens Of The Stone Age in 2004 amid rumours he had been violent towards his then girlfriend. However, Oliveri appears on the band's new album and, speaking to NME, the frontman explained how he came to be back on working terms with his former best friend. Speaking as part of the cover feature for this week's magazine, on newsstands from today (May 22), Homme says: "Nick recorded his record [with his band Mondo Generator] at my studio and he was dropping some vinyl off and was like, 'Er, need background vocals?' and I was like, 'Yeah'. So he sang on 'If I Had A Tail'."

Homme then adds: "Him and Mark Lanegan are going "Oooohohohoooo". It's just friends, you know. And that's good enough for me. It's what it is, not what it was. I know people get hung up on stuff but what am I supposed to do, go door to door and explain the situation?"

Discussing the number of big name guests on the bands new album, including Elton John, Dave Grohl and Alex Turner, Homme adds: "I know it's got some market value to somebody else, and I'm realising to the outsider that to the outsider it's like, 'Woah'. But I just needed a distraction from how confusing this record was to make. The songs were what they were. But it's like a Christmas tree. It exists before you put decorations on it, but it's cool to put decorations on it."

Queens Of The Stone Age have compiled all of their recent animated videos into a 15-minute promo for '…Like Clockwork'. Click below to watch the video, which starts with the previously released clip for 'I Appear Missing' before segueing into 'Kalopsia', 'Keep Your Eyes Peeled' and 'If I Had A Tail', finishing up with 'My God Is The Sun', which was the very first track to be revealed from the band's sixth album, after being played live at Lollapalooza Brazil in March.

Sam Claflin and Douglas Booth join Laura Wade's 'Posh'

We somehow missed this report from last month, but Britain’s The Daily Mail reports“The Borgias” actress Holliday Grainger is in talks for one of the few female roles in the film, while Emma Watson also met with the director but ultimately couldn’t take a different role. Daily Mail also updates Robert Pattinson has passed on the project.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The gang’s almost all here. After initial reports of negotiations in March, British actors Sam Claflin (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”) and Douglas Booth (“Jupiter Ascending”) have now officially joined Max Irons (“The Host”) in Lone Scherfig’s adaptation of Laura Wade’s 2010 play“Posh”, according to THR. Filming begins next month.

Laura Wade’s 2010 hit play of the same name concerned The Riot Club, a fictional version of The Bullingdon Club, an exclusive society at Oxford University to which such prominent British figures as Prime Minister David Cameron belonged. The entire play is set over the course of one evening when the ten members of the club have their termly dinner. As their President, James, considers leaving his post, the other boys jocky for position, leading to tragic consequences.

Claflin is in Cannes promoting “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, in which he plays fan favorite character Finnick Odair. He previously appeared in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and“Snow White and the Huntsman.” Booth will next appear opposite Hailee Steinfeld in Carlo Carlei’s new adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” and is currently filming the Wachowskis’ sci-fi epic “Jupiter Ascending.”

Julianne Moore: 'Men aren't asked about age'

May. 22nd, 2013 | 04:09 pm
posted by: wonderwomanhero in ohnotheydidnt

Oscar-nominated actress Julianne Moore is not one to mince words, and she certainly doesn't in a recent chat with DuJour magazine where she talks about her slew of new films, including What Maisie Knew and Carrie, but gets testy when asked the standard celeb interview questions about aging, motherhood and marriage.

"Men aren't asked about age," she states when the conversation starts to veer into all-too-familiar territory. "Men aren't asked about their children. Not that these things aren't important, but I do feel like it becomes reductive, when a woman's life becomes, 'Talk to me about your kids and how you feel about plastic surgery.' "
