XP file copying problem [11 May 2008|10:34pm] computer_help [laurahonest] [ mood | confused ] Hello, I am trying to help my dad copy some pictures onto a disc on his Windows XP eMachine. We have done it before just fine but this time every time he tries to copy and paste something into the CD:E drive to burn to the disc it pops up with the Error message "there was a problem copying these files. Retry, Skip or Cancel" I have had him try copy and paste, send to, drag and drop and even had him compress the folders to see if that helped. A couple of weeks ago his girlfriend used his computer and moved a bunch of pictures around and make duplicate folders of them. Is it possible that she deleted some vital software component without realizing it? She hasn't used computers much. It almost sounds like a virus but they don't have internet access so unless they picked one up from a disc someone sent them I don't really know where they would have gotten one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. read (1)comment?

Slept in today... [11 May 2008|06:20pm] txvoodoo Fun night last night. First, Jasper had a siezure - got him down from that, and finally to bed. Where he had another. *sigh* Finally got him relaxed and sleeping, I start off to sleep, and Cache had a panic attack. Usually these are associated with storms, but I'm beginning to think that Cache has a 4-state storm-knowledge radius. It was clear here. He was so pitiful: shaking, panting, clinging. I finally broke down and gave him one of his pills, and he fell asleep around 6:30 am. Wrapped around my neck. So then I dreamt that my bed was full of dachshund puppies. FULL OF THEM. Every time one of these comes on (Dominos, Pizza Hut, now Alltel Wireless), my dogs think it's OUR doorbell and go nuts, often several times in 30 seconds.
