Time for an update of this thing that is supposed to give those on teh interwebz a glimpse into the person that supposedly is me, Summer.
I am going to college for Chemical Engineering with the hopes of, eventually, getting my PhD, hopefully paid for by some wonderful company that thinks I'm worth it, in order to perform my own research on alternative sources of energy.
I am married to a wonderful man, Evan, who since I have known him (Spring 2002) has been battling Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalitis, Fibromyalgia, and Myofascial Pain Syndrome. He currently is unable to work, after having been a successful personal trainer and class instructor, and is unlikely to be able to receive any health insurance unless he resumes working, most likely at the detriment of his health and the health of our relationship, or until I am able to work at a place that would cover both of us. We hope to apply for SSI (disability) for him sometime this year, but plan on a two year battle that will require the assistance of a lawyer in order to actually get the government to acknowledge his disability. Until then, we are just trying to live our lives as best as we can and take it one day at a time. Now for some of the awesome stuff about him... He is an amazing musician (his whole family is musically inclined... I am not :P), loves good video games, loves fantasy/sci-fi, is an avid movie watcher like moi, always helping others in whatever way he can, dog lover, great cook, makes me laugh everyday (I, on the other hand, am more of a smart ass than a comedian), and is the most loving person I know.
Now that we have that lovely bit out of the way, a little more about who I am. I am a bleeding heart, mechanical, passionate, private, driven, a perfectionist, a dog lover, a geek, a video gamer, a writer, a dreamer, a movie fiend, a doctor who lover, a hard worker, determined, a feminist, pro-choice, an agnostic bordering on atheist who really just prefers science, as noted previously a science fanatic, a sufferer of anxiety and depression, a fatherless daughter due to a sudden death (2001), a book worm, a proud wife, a great friend, a protective big sister, a loving daughter, a pessimist mentally and an optimist emotionally, a liberal that finds no party good enough, a treehugger, and above all a living, breathing, crying, moving, loving human being who wants the world and the human race to live up to its potential by dealing with its issues and accepting that changes need to be made, and finally taking action to make this world a better place for those (all species) that come after us, as well as ourselves and all the other living organisms existing on this planet.
My journal is friends only as I am a rather private person, but I am friendly and do enjoy meeting new people. Just drop me a line on my friend's only post and I will most likely add you.
