In the past month, I finished junior year and student teaching part 1, went to my first Bachelorette party, had one too many job/internships that got rejected, missed a friend dearly, turned 21 in the most fabulous way, had a surprise party thrown for me, visited old schools, spent the most amount of money ever, fell even more in love with my friends, ate the best sushi to date, almost went to the ER, enjoyed my love life greatly, vacationed in sunny South Beach, got my first Ravinia and Lollapalooza tickets, re-did my entire room and closet, spent quality time with my family, learned how to appreciate a cop for once, watched Sex and the City, found the best-good location-high paying job, and learned how to not give a fuck sometimes. success I say.

Art Institute

I finally did it. I sent in my internship application for the Art Institute of Chicago. It's a summer paid museum education internship and I reeaally hope I get it. fingers crosssed!

In other news, tomorrow is Unofficial St. Pat's Day here at UIUC. Kegs and eggs at 7am. well, Mimosas and egg sandwiches. lots of visitors coming to stay here including my boy. This weekend is soo what I need after the last two.

I haven't been on here in foreverrr. At some point I will post some Spain pictures : ]
Winter break was crazy, I spent about 2 weeks in Europe and had like 2 days at home before I had to be back for school. This semester is equally as hectic. I am taking my first 18 hour course load which isn't too bad. Art education, 3 art history classes, Image Practice, Anthropology 103, and I'm also teaching 2 art classes on Tuesday mornings. I'm kicking my own ass this semester so next semester (my last one here) will be super easy.

I'll be back in Chicago tonight for the first time in a while. I figure I'll actually spend a Valentine's Day with my boy this year. Getting my hair chopped off tomorrow also, can't wait. Spice girls concert tomorrow night!! Saturday have some shopping and lesson plan preparation to do. At night, a birthday party in Wrigleyville and seeing my best girl. Sunday, dad's belated birthday shindig and hopefully and huge brunch b/c I miss those. Well, I'm off to class. :]

Deborah's 500+ pictures of her adventures across Europe are seriously making me jealous. This Wednesday I have one more Barcelona lecture before the trip and I have to ask if I can bring the laptop with. I also need to buy a plug voltage converter I realize. I have about 4 days before winter break, fastest semester of my life. I've started reading my Spain book which is quite fascinating. It talks about what was covered in my history class last year. I'm pretty sure it was that course that inspired me to go abroad. I can't wait till my other history courses - I'm taking 3 next semester and 18 hours total. Anyways, this week we are all celebrating Channukah, mostly because I want to cook latkes and such. Matt's mom bought him a menorah! In leiu of the holiday seasons, I've started another wishlist.

I pretty much had the best break ever this past week. Senior spring 05 in Bahamas comes pretty close except I don't remember many nights of that (not even seeing mike jordan at a casino). Anywaysss, it was a couple days shorter than it should have been due to Matt's 21st and my art exhibit set up but it was amazing. Denis and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We had the best sushi dinner ever at Nari and received complimentary miso, salads, sides, and sake. I got beautiful pearl/white gold earrings which I adore! Champagne and such in the evening. Robin's 21st was on wed and it was the first snow of the year. Dinner at Cheesecake Factory and we hit up Chi-Town Tap because of tradition and Relax Lounge after. Effen black cherry & Poma sodas are my drinks of choice. Thursday was Thanksgiving which was spent with my family, stuffing was my favorite as always. At midnight my parents and I headed up to Gurnee Mills which was the most crowded place I have ever seen in my life. By 4am I was passed out and couldn't make it to Target by 6 to get my external harddrive. The rest of Black Friday was alright, got some cheap DVDs, boots, some presents, MAC stuff. Old orchard wasn't too bad. We hung out with Dave, drank beer together and watched Metalacolypse that night, what a silly guy. Saturday, D and I did Panera and hung around Evanston. We took the El down to Belmont/Clark & completed some of my photoshoot. We had dinner at Flattop Grill with my family and I ate about 4 stirfrys - amazing. I'm surprised I haven't gained any weight damn. Tina's 21 this weekend, final projects and exams. Winter break is a couple weeks away & Barcelona in a month? Happy Holidays to you all :]

Fall weather! brown suede boots, trenches, scarves, and layers. lovelovelove. Finally went to Congress theater for the first time. Can't wait to live in Lincoln Park area. Robin's bro crew might buy out Chi-Town Tap, if they do they want me to help with the interior/design to transform it into a cafe lounge-y place. Halloween and Kathy's 22nd this weekend. No idea for costume idea, I wanted to be tomb raider girl. I met my Barcelona group this week, seems like an interesting bunch (only 6 guys out of 35 people) way too many girls for me to handle. dyed my hair black, getting some burgandy in it later.

The new Radiohead album is phenomenal, no surprises. Can't believe it's already midterm time. Teaching is flying by. I've got new 8th grade students starting this Saturday. going up to NIU after and then Chicago for a night. Next weekend is Brand New in Chicago. sweet. I think I found an apartment for next fall. Barcelona orientation coming up. The internship is going awesome - lots of neat events to promote and the research is teaching me a lot. Everything is kind of nicely in place right now. Last weekend was awesome. Denis visited me and we had some other visitors and it was good times. I have so many pics to update. oy

Kind of off to a hectic start this school year. Moved back to Champaign into my first apartment, finally brought my car down. 3 beds 2 bath big living room balcony and air conditioning unit kind of deal. Cooking has been a lifesaver bc im eating healthy. I'm taking photo 2, making and meaning, a physics course, teaching seminar, and practicum experience which is student teaching every Saturdays at 8am. skdfj this prevents me from staying out late or going back to Chicago on Fridays, but I'm pretty excited. Applying to a highly competitive fall internship @ Krannert Museum. if that fails maybe I'll work at Spurlock Museum? Deborah's studying in Austria all semester so we're throwing a goodbye toga party at our place this weekend. Jackie turns 21 in 2 weeks. hope this year flies by..

got my wireless internet back. hate to admit it but i depend on technology too damn much. havent updated in forever. somewhere between the last post and now i turned 20. classes are going alright. work is a lot of physical labor at tuesday morning. we're doing inventory right now which means counting everything in the store, scanning, organizing.. 4 times. new phone - black razr v3t. new car for dad - land rover. painting my room light sage green in a few days. saw TOOL wed night which was amazing. visiting UIUC next weekend for Sam's 21st and seeing my roomies. went to a kegger w. tony where he reunited w. his marine buddies from iraq. bghs party. watched evan almighty & some other good movies. blah. so tired. gg to class now, i swear if Denis wasn't in my classes i would never go. i wana go to taste of chi asap. oh and robin found another ID for me which means u know what.

here's a picture i stole from brad. it's his front door this morning. witness: LOTS OF SNOW. and we're expected to be powdered with like 10 more inches or something. sweeet. first snow day in about 40 years here at good ol UIUC. unaware of the fact that they were going to cancel classes, i ventured my way to my 9am this morning only to be greeted by a nice lady at the door telling me to go home. we are taking full advantage of this day. to be continued...

Happy Holidays!!

I've been home for almost 2 weeks. I've been working quite a bit but spending mostly all the money i've made so far. Christmas was yesterday, can't believe how fast this year has gone by. They keep getting faster. I got some neat presents: a beautiful marcasite bracelet from Robin she is the sweetest friend, scented candles!, clueless new edition dvd, devil wears prada, new murakami book, 2 other novels, With Love perfume, candy, coffee, a sterling silver beaded necklace, denim blazer, Rachel Ray cookbook, opi nail polish, and some other things. i think some people actually got a hold of my wishlist on amazon i posted :[, although not everyone did :[ saw Night at the Museum and had 3 Japanese dinners in a row this week. I also received my report card for the semester and am not satisfied. better luck next semester. I have a day off tomorrow and then am working the next 3 days. Sarah's Christmachanukkah party on saturday night and then new year's the day after!? *yawn* I woke up at 6am for work this morning so I could really use a nap right now.

a week and a half until winter break. so much to do until then. we had our first snow on thursday, tina's birthday too. went to dinner at cheddar's. yesterday was a blizzard/ice storm. lots of schools around us had classes cancelled except us. northern, ISU, western, eastern, bradley, wesleyan.. we don't wuss out on a little snow. last night was tina's pirate birthday party! lots of fun at the apartment, i am a little obsessed with the new nintendo wii the guys bought last week. then we went to clybourne's and had shots of UV blue and such. tons of pictures. i'll edit and post later. CHECK BACK.

to do list: finish adv. fiction paper on positions in the U.S. social imaginary + U.S society as seen in novel, finish linguistics 7 pg final paper on language change, meet with group @ UGL 1pm to finish final statistics project, reshoot/develope/pring photo panaramic proj, read pgs 150-243 in novel by tues, stats quiz + online hw + makeup exam, drawing critique, pick up prescription @ mckinley..
