my vegan anarchist cousin told me i was very indie fresca¹ for bragging only occasionally, and today is a day to be indie fresh! back in march i found out about a governmental writing contest & decided to participate. however, in typical carli fashion, i kept putting it off & finally wrote it the night before the deadline, until 3am. i believe i was the most stressed i've been in a long time, and this year i've been stressed out a lot. i've been thinking about it most days since then, and today during a french exam i was still thinking about it when the vice principal came in with a letter, and i had a feeling, and as soon as she said Ministère de l'Éducation i knew it was for me. and so i won. this year has been increasingly hard for me, school-wise, i've never been less driven. i was starting to think i wouldn't get anywhere, but i was invited to the school merit gala, and this. i used to always be the smartest kid around, and everyone must've thought that i was a promizing child, but i hadn't achieved anything extraordinary in two years. so i guess i needed to win. i only like competition when i'm sure i'm going to win. (the prize is a laptop &a trip to Québec City for the 400th anniversary show with Céline Dion, aha.)
i'm pretty content with my life these days. i went to see eisley on april 28th, which was, quite honestly, a longtime dream come true. i gave them timbits. but i'd made cookies. i'm a dork. i think my biggest problem right now is finding someone to see death cab with me, since everyone i asked will be out of town, is broke or don't like them. actually, my biggest problem is finding the right fabric for my prom dress, and that should be solved sunday. i should write the way i used to, i didn't talk about silly stuff like this.
anyway, montrealers, Blank on ste-cath is having a moving-out sale. i got a hoodie for $30, down from $50. also, the people at Miga are really sweet, the lady lent me this pages jaunes-thick korean magazine to read, with the weirdest ads in it. and it's super cheap, especially the neat lunch trays. |

mon estomac souffre de n'avoir été nourri que de kiwis hier soir. ouch ouch. c'est drôle, je crois que mon corps fait le lien entre ma haine pour la préparation de nourriture et la faim. je peux me permettre de sauter un souper ou 2 sans que mon corps crie famine et s'empresse de me réclamer de la nourriture. je trouve ça plutôt pratique.
la vie à deux est commencée pour vrai depuis environ une semaine maintenant. je trouve ça étrange et je suis probablement une colocataire assez pénible pour le moment. mais j'ai bon espoir que les choses vont se placer et que je vais finir par apprivoiser la vie de couple... oui.
ce soir je part pour un même pas 24h à Québec, juste pour me faire couper les cheveux samedi matin (je peux pas tromper ma coiffeuse!). ensuite je reviens à Montréal avec ma maman faire une visite au Ikéa et sans doute ailleurs. notre appart commence à ressembler à quelque chose maintenant mais il reste des détails à fixer, comme le rangement et la déco et les quelques places qu'on a pas encore peinturé. ça va être beau beau bientôt. sur ce, le travail m'appelle, ou plus exactement, ma conscience me dit de perdre moins de temps sur le net. mais... la vérité c'est que cette journée est longue et plate et que j'ai pas tant de choses à faire tout compte fait. mais tsé. on va y aller pour les apparences!

Tonight feels like a summer night and I'm not tired anddd I have a huge research paper due tomorrow but I'm lazy D:
It's so weird that I know in my head I'm in trouble but I can sit down so easily and feel relaxeddd. It's like when you hold two baseball bats and practice swinging and then go out to bat with one. Kind of? I feel like my body and brain have different minds o.o.
I'm gonna tombstomb Zoey. He keeps clawing my feet so I have to sit with my feet on the chair :|. It's uncomfortable.

summers so close but then theres the english regents, the u.s., chem x_x, and all my finals and stuff. Plus this is typically when i start freaking out cause i feel behind in every class :x

I have strep throat. :[
I haven't eaten in two days except bananas which i can no longer eat and a wendys frosty that I threw up as soon as I got home anyways.
Plusss I'm missing 3 days of school. That should be enough to kill me anyways, especially since I'm missing 3 days of chem.
Almost finished with The Virgin Suicides though. The book is seriously better than the movie.
And Iron Man was awesome :D I wanna go see it again
