Contemplating the Worth of Pickle Jars

Eyes darkened with circles,
on the road so long,
Every mile marker passed means a little more cash.
Too deep in debt to pull aside for relief,
it serves as a Johnny Pot,
and he's able to steer two things at once.

Summer nights prove endless
to children and parents alike.
Bedtimes seem so far away.
Black lit up by bugs with flashlight asses,
poked holes in the top serve as the lifeline
for a child's special nightlight.


Bums home on city streets
begging for change
with rank unwashed breath and fatigue,
they salvage half smoked cancer sticks,
a perfect place to store slow suicide,
a glass case display for poverty.

Bed ridden sick man lies helpless
with a mouthful of phlegm and
nowhere to rid of the slime.
A night stand storage exhibit of
spewtum gives the room a special touch.

Family gatherings equal leftovers,
Tupperware too costly for once a year relatives.
With hugs and kisses a hostess with
too much soup
gives away portable lunches
in a heat and eat doggy jar.

No warmth, but plenty of winter sun
cause aggravation for a botanist
and a seedling that just won't grow.
Small pots prove worthy of
a mini-greenhouse.

After takeoff,
limbs shake and a man's
praying for landing.
A no pets on board exception,
the nervous flyer at ease with
an on-the-go aquarium.

Rich business man, suit and tie delight
has pocket change from Starbuck's runs,
piggy banks not manly enough to display his pride.
An exhibit of wealth on the kitchen counter,
a safe fit for a king.

Hot days call for cold treats,
a crunch a munch and a thirst quencher.
Cucumbers with bumps for the takes,
presented nicely for those who wish
to satisfy their appetites.
