BioKisses from snowflakes and the choking cold air. Winter’s here and it couldn’t be more burning. We danced at 11:11. Making promises we knew we could never keep. And 143 hours later we’re still falling. The sun burned out, and the ice gathered at our throats. We sat beneath the icicles and mistletoe, wishing for something more under the tree. Stealing body heat and secret glances, throwing snowballs and whispers. Lights blinked and flashed, mocking the stars, and our eyes did the same. Bells rang out beneath the less than impromptu the sighs and moans. And maybe the cold isn’t so bad. We searched for meaning and shadows. Bundled in scarves and cut gloves, and using the snow to clean up the mess. Driving crashed cars with a death wish, speeding along iced roads and iced hearts. We’ll wrap it all up, and send it to someone who gives a damn. And we’ll celebrate the new year with crossed fingers and hip bones. Resolutions will be made, and then broken before the ground thaws.
We’ll wake up when your heart unfreezes, and dance atop our cold memories.
But until then, bundle up baby. It’s gonna be a long winter.
