oh paris. i got home yesterday & i sort of miss it already. i'm glad to be home of course, but both today & yesterday i found myself searching for familiar parisian things & was so delighted when i heard some girls speaking french on the subway. paris finally feels like my second home, which i think is important if i'm going to be spending so much time there. i love that i know this city like the back of my hand, better than toronto even. my little french home away from home. see you soon paris. bisou.

also, someone needs to not let me go crazy with the fastfood. i've already had pizzapizza, second cup & harveys within the past 24 hours. it's just so convenient!!! (i clearly missed convenience a lot)

yesterday teela & i tried to go to Versailles, but we took the wrong RER, so we gave up & went to monmartre instead. it was freezing cold & raining a bit, so we didn't stay long. but we wandered around place du tertre & looked at all of the oil paintings & caricatures. we were also hounded by a bunch of artists to have our caricatures drawn. & i climbed the ridiculous amount of stairs up to the sacre coeur while trying to eat a baguette & i will tell you i advise against doing that. then we went into a little cafe at the bottom of the hill called Les Oiseaux for a cafe and a tea to get warm. in all, a nice day.

my roommates & i celebrated by going out to dinner at this place called Breakfast In America. it's an american style diner with the greatest french toast ever. i also got some homefries, which were equally good. i also wore green. that's right, i wore a colour.

today my girls & i went to the eiffel tower for a picnic. but then the park police told everyone to get off the grass & not return until april 15th because apparently, it was still winter & therefore wasn't allowed.
what a ruiner. but we ate our picnic on a bench & then took some pictures & had a lovely day. i love this city.

yesterday i went to the flea market & i bought some vintage fashion newspaper covers & incense.
then i went for a walk, got lost on purpose, played on a playground, & leaned over the bridge over the great big river. yesterday made me realize how beautiful this city is & how lucky i am to be here.
