10:27 am - Daft Punk - Computerized (ft. Jay-Z)
A previously unreleased collaboration between Daft Punk and Jay Z, titled "Computerized," has surfaced online via a Daft Punk fan site. A person who reposted it to a Kanye West message board alleged that the Yeezus rapper (and Daft Punk sampler) produced the track, though Pitchfork has confirmed that West was not involved. It is unclear when the song was recorded, though one of the boards refers to it as a demo.
( The song is a cautionary tale about relying too much on technologyCollapse )
Classic Daft Punk.

U2 Rep Denies Album Delays
"U2's album is planned for this year [and] is still on track and touring plans haven't been confirmed yet," the rep says
A rep for U2 says that contrary to recent reports, the group is still intending on releasing a new album this year. Last week, Billboard ran a lengthy article claiming that the group had booked new sessions with producers Paul Epworth and Ryan Tedder that would push the new LP and the group's planned touring back to 2015. A source is now telling The Guardian that claims of delays as a result of the new sessions were unfounded. "U2's album is planned for this year [and] is still on track and touring plans haven't been confirmed yet," the rep said.
The 10 Greatest U2 Albums, As Chosen by Rolling Stone Readers
The reported release date of the record has changed several times since bassist Adam Clayton forecasted a November 2013 release. Earlier this year, Bono told USA Today, "We want [the new album] to come out this summer, but you don't want to let anyone down." The group premiered the new song "Invisible," which Bono said was not intended as the first single for the album, during the Super Bowl.
Guitarist the Edge spoke with Rolling Stone earlier this year and said the group had 30 or so songs in various states of completion that its members were excited about; six or seven of those tracks, he said, were "mixed and ready to go." Musically, he said the record was inspired by U2's original mid- and late-Seventies influences. "That's a rich period, one we've visited many times in the past," the Edge said. "But it's a very Dublin-centric record lyrically."
The guitarist also said that the group had a few titles in mind and underscored that there was no release date set. "But we're getting there," he said. "We're not, as we say in Ireland, up our own arse. But we do not want to let go of anything if we are not 100 percent happy with it."
Awesome! U talking U2 to me would have had a lot of episodes to fill if the album had been delayed for a year, lol.
10:04 pm - Another Model Comes Forward With Horrible Terry Richardson Allegations
Known sexual predator Terry Richardson has had a busy month (all his months are busy because, despite the accounts of multiple women who allege they've been sexually assaulted and harassed by him, he is beloved by the fashion world).
In the past 30 days, he's shot Lady Gaga for Harper's Bazaar, Lea Michele and Jennifer Hudson for V, LeBron James for GQ, Stacy Martin of Nymphomaniac fame for Purple Fashion, and Kate Moss for Lui (Moss link is NSFW). In keeping with his "edgy" style, Lady Gaga, Lea Michele and Kate Moss all have their legs splayed wide open. In the midst of all of this, a former model has shared her account of his vile and exploitative behavior; it's very similar to every other account we've heard, and it's completely horrifying. But the Richardson's steady stream of work with prestigious magazines and celebrities continues unabated, because the fashion industry has been callously ignoring stories like this throughout his entire career.
( It ended with him jacking off on to my face and he told me to keep my eyes open really wide and his assistant stood over me and it got in my eye and they both began taking pics of itCollapse )
Side-eyeing every celebrity who casually hangs out with him (Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o recently, etc.) and the powerful ones who still work with him (Lady Gaga etc.). SMH.

11:39 pm - Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson Gets Party Tips From Kirk Cameron
JEREMY Clarkson might not be the most popular TV personality on the planet, but you’d still expect more than four people to turn up to his party.
In what's being dubbed an 'ultimate party fail', the Top Gear host live tweeted the wrap party for the Australian edition of the show in which just a handful of miserable-looking guests attended. The hilarious pictures taken by Clarkson in his Sydney villa on Sunday night included live-action shots of the band he'd hired (playing to a crowd of no-one), plates of uneaten food, an empty swimming pool and an extremely bored looking female guest sitting on the couch. The photos painted a picture of a very sad affair indeed.
( But no one is stuck in a prison made of boxes, so...Collapse )
06:52 am - Juliette Lewis: Stop Asking Me About Brad Pitt & Drug Addiction. Get Out Of My Past.
Juliette Lewis is at a turning point. Admitting that most past news coverage about her was "usually about Brad Pitt or drug addiction, which hasn't been me since I was 22," she says, "I'm 40. I quit all my bulls--- at 22. There is growth. Get out of the past."
At present, Lewis has two films at the SXSW arts fest in Austin: Kelly & Cat, which Variety in its review called an "inspired match-up of underserved veteran Juliette Lewis and breakout newcomer Jonny Weston," and writer-director Kat Candler's darkly emotional Hellion, which premiered Sunday and costars Josh Wiggins as a struggling teenager and Aaron Paul as his father.
"I like doing roles that are rooted, where the character has a history and a range of emotion," says Lewis, who, as a young actress shot to fame with roles in the critically acclaimed What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Cape Fear and Natural Born Killers.
Off-screen she was causing excitement, too – being chased by paparazzi during her relationships with both Pitt and Johnny Depp. But that was then. Lewis says turning 40 is about expressing herself.
"I used to be really insular, really introverted, spoke very little words," she says. "I couldn't articulate myself." That means not only expressing herself with her screen work, but in the recording studio.
After her turns in the Oscar-nominated August: Osage County and the ABC series Secrets & Lies with Ryan Phillippe, Lewis is also preparing her new album, her fifth and her most recent since 2009's Terra Incognita. "I took five years off of movies, just making music and touring," she says. "I am mid-life, and this is a new chapter for me."
