| A Breakdown of the Many Ways HBO's Game of Thrones Strayed From the Book Series in Season 3 |
[19 Jun 2013|08:49pm] |

Even the most devout readers of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series were surprised by how some aspects of the Red Wedding played out (it should go without saying that spoilers abound from here on out in this article), and were handed yet another reminder that HBO’s adaptation of the epic fantasy novels isn't always going to stay true to the source material. But while season two took a few liberties (Daenerys's dragons getting kidnapped, for instance), this past season shuffled even more timelines, amalgamated even more characters, and twisted even more plot points as the one-book-per-season pace was pushed out the window like an overcurious Stark brat. Most changes involved simplifying and condensing Martin’s intricate narrative, but in some instances, the alterations served to enlarge the scope. We could quibble about some of the smaller changes that ultimately fulfilled the same function (Vargo Hoat’s rechristening as Locke, for example) or the shifting reasons behind certain events (such as the mutiny at Craster's Keep, which seemed more spontaneous than planned). But the changes we’re concerned with here are the ones that will affect the story going forward. Let’s take a look at the biggest Games-changers of season three. (Sorry, Ros!)
Talisa In the books, Robb's wife is named Jeyne Westerling, and she never does manage to get pregnant with a Stark child. She also survives the Red Wedding because she isn’t in attendance; it was decided that she should sit that one out, so as not to slight the Freys any further. A crucial point not addressed in the show is that Jeyne's family members are Lannister bannermen and that, at the behest of Lord Tywin, her mother had been giving Jeyne poisons to thwart pregnancy. After the Red Wedding, she is pardoned by the Iron Throne and instructed not to marry for two years to ward off any speculation if she were to have a child. Still, even though Talisa comes from a family with no political ties to Westeros, killing her and her unborn Stark baby off at the Red Wedding fulfills the same plot function, namely that Robb leaves behind no heir to Winterfell.

| Russell Brand confesses he hit on Mila Kunis. |
[19 Jun 2013|07:47pm] |

He was married to one of the world’s hottest women and previously bragged about having sex with more than a dozen birds in one night. But Russell Brand still regrets missing out on adding another notch to his severely splintered bed post. The edgy comedian was filming with Mila Kunis when he tried to charm the gorgeous actress only to discover she was already dating someone. And the serial shagger - who debuted his new stand-up Messiah Complex world tour in London last night - was stunned when he found out the Hollywood stunner was seeing “the lad from Home Alone”.

He gushed about Mila: "She's so gorgeous, just so gorgeous and I was chatting her up and got the conversation around to have you got a boyfriend, and then you know that feeling of how long do I have to entertain a conversation? “Then I go away and she keeps talking about her boyfriend Mac, this is when I was on Sarah Marshall.” Russell - who hijacked a US chat show host and blasted the presenters for their bad manners this week - continued: “Eventually she said he's coming tomorrow and there was some sort of fanfare, she was so excited. "Then when he came it wasn't Mac - it was Macaulay Culkin. He'd got longer and looked pale and scared of himself, like a shaved horse. “There was a horror about him and I thought, ‘you can't f**k him – that’s the lad from Home Alone’."
There were serious concerns over Macauley's health when he was pictured looking painfully gaunt last year. The National Enquirer reported that the Home Alone actor had become addicted to heroin and the highly addictive painkiller oxycodone – dubbed hillbilly heroin. The US tabloid claimed a ‘close friend’ said that the frail actor was in a ‘downward spiral’ and spending nearly £4,000 a month on his drug habit. A spokesman for Macaulay issued a fierce denial over the claims: "The report is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious. Mila ended her relationship with Macauley – who was once Hollywood's biggest child star, commanding £4million a film – after eight years together. Sources: 1 2 3

| Serena Ryder opens up about her battle with depression |
[19 Jun 2013|08:37pm] |
"There was a long period of time that I had to spend at home and try and get my shit back together," says re-energized singer.

"Stompa," Canadian singer/songwriter Serena Ryder's muscular pop-rock single and lead track from her forthcoming album "Harmony," spends its sixth consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard's Triple A chart. It's a joyous song about the rapturous power of music -- its title is found in the onomatopoeic refrain: "Nothing is wrong if you move to the beat/Clappa your hands, stompa your feet" -- and has grown its audience thanks to showy placements on "Grey's Anatomy" and in a Cadillac SRX TV ad.

Has anyone else listened to her album Harmony?

| Locke & Key Now Heading to the Big Screen via Universal |
[19 Jun 2013|08:35pm] |

After being teased with a TV adaptation of the popular comic Locke & Key that failed to materialize beyond a pilot, word has now come that Universal has picked it up to develop as a feature film.
Per THR's Heat Vision Blog, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Bobby Cohen will produce via their Universal-based K/O Paper Products banner. Ted Adams, the CEO and publisher of IDW Publishing, the company behind the comic, will also produce.
Written by Joe Hill and featuring astounding artwork from Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them.... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all...
Hollywood has been trying to adapt Locke & Key for several years now. Dimension had the screen rights initially, and when they lapsed in 2010, Kurtzman and Orci, the superstar writers whose work includes Star Trek, Transformers, and "Fringe," jumped in. The property then became a Fox TV series produced by DreamWorks TV and K/O Paper Products, but Fox ultimately passed on it. The producers tried to shop it around, but budgetary constraints were an issue. The hope now is that the feature film model will give the story the ample canvas it needs.
Executive VP of Production Jon Mone and Creative Executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project for Universal, while Ben Kim will handle development for K/O Paper Products.
Look for more soon!

CLAIM: Kerry Washington & Tony Goldwyn of Scandal Getting Too Close Off Screen

“Scandal” co-stars Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington are getting too close for his wife Jane Musky’s liking, according to Star.
The tabloid claims that Musky’s jealousy goes beyond Goldwyn’s steamy on-screen scenes.
“Tony and Jane constantly argue about his close off-camera relationship with Kerry,” a so-called “spy” tells Star. “Jane has been to the set a few times and thought Kerry was too flirty with him in between takes.”

Maybe Star should leave the sexy fictional plots to the show’s writers.

What do you think ONTD? I know the article is claiming it false for lack of evidence, but the talk has been around for a while and it seems not the tabs are beginning to pick up. Just last month HuffPo, Us Weekly and the Daily Mail had articles alluding to something. Also apparently The View talked about it as well. It all seems pretty fishy to me, I'm a fan of the actors and the show and they do appear very close, especially in interviews. Plus where there's smoke there's fire.

| Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie Celebrates 5th Birthday, Wears Dolce & Gabbana |
[19 Jun 2013|06:07pm] |

Maddie is growing up fast -- and becoming quite the fashionista! Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter (and Britney Spears' niece) celebrated her 5th birthday on Wednesday, June 19.
Jamie Lynn, 22, shared a cute picture of Maddie on Instagram all dressed up for her special day. "Birthday girl!!!" she captioned the shot. "Picked out her bday outfit by herself! Dolce & Gabbana shoes Crewcuts. I'm in trouble," she joked.
In the picture, Maddie, who recently finished her first year of school, shows off her stylish ensemble of a gray cardigan, white T-shirt, tropical print shorts, a gold necklace and neon pink flats by J.Crew.
Later in the day, Jamie Lynn later shared a photo of her daughter at a hair salon, digging into a box of sweets on her lap.
Five years ago, Jamie Lynn welcomed Maddie with then-fiance Casey Aldridge when she was just 17 years old. The new parents called off their engagement in 2009, and ended things for good in 2010.
In March 2013, the former Nickelodeon actress announced her engagement to boyfriend of three years, Jamie Watson. She tweeted a picture of herself posing with her fiance and showing off her huge diamond ring, captioning the shot, "Guess what???" She also shared a close-up shot of the sparkler and added, "He did good."

| Anonymous paparazzo pens column, "Bald Britney Spears Was The Dot-Com Boom Era For Paparazzi" |
[19 Jun 2013|05:36pm] |

Britney Spears was like an ATM in my world, because from the grunts in the field taking the shots to the editors and owners back in the office, everyone was making withdrawals in her name. Between 2007 (from the time shaved her head) to 2009 (when she was dating paparazzo Adnan Ghalib), the money being paid to us for photos of her in various states of duress (which, at that time, was practically every time she went outside) was astronomical.
One shot of Britney slowly spiraling into insanity, one video of her shaving her head, or, the just one clip of her going fucking umbrella-attack crazy, could be your mortgage payment for the next year or a new car.

| Nicki Minaj Takes You Behind-The-Scenes Of “#Twerkit” |
[19 Jun 2013|06:58pm] |
Nicki Minaj, booty-clapper and occasional rapper, was recently called on to add a verse to Busta Rhymes‘ poetic new single “#Twerkit”. It wasn’t particularly good (not that the song was great to start with) but at least she has an excuse. In behind-the-scenes footage, the scheduled BET performer reveals that she only had one day to record her vocal – and shoot the video.
We see the tracksuit-clad femcee doing her thing in the studio before shooting the breeze with DJ Khaled. The pair reunite on set the following day, where Nicki shakes her biggest asset and models some of the largest gold chains ever captured on film. A highlight is the “I’m Out” diva’s conversation with “#Twerkit” producer Pharrell in the parking lot. They talk about “Big Booty Judys” and working together again.
Do you think Nicki should collaborate with Pharrell again or has this club banger left a bad taste in your mouth? Share your thoughts below.
