We're back to a full on heat wave here. Damn. Yesterday Riley and I attempted swimming and the pool was 83. Brrr.
I'm dropping her off to Mom's for the day and over night. They are taking her to see Beauty and the Beast at a local playhouse. Jeff and I have a 'date' in Hampton Bays to see TDK. It will bed Jeff's first movie in a theater since 2002. Seriously. We never go to the movies. After I drop her off, I'm hitting up Costco and then coming back here.
I had a really interesting (and somewhat steamy) dream last night. It involved people from my past, which was odd. My brain is certainly acting strange lately.
Because of this, I was up early today. I went to task and made a new budget for the household. I am determined to stick to it and force myself to live a little more cautiously. I am going to try and keep the bulk of the cash in savings and just transfer it into checking when I need to pay a bill, rather than the other way around. That way I'm gaining interest on more and it doesn't get spent so easily. It helps that we are only using our Amex True Rewards card for gas now and not the debit card. It's 3% back on gasoline purchases and although the bill looks outrageous right now, we don't have that stupid hold on our checking account when we get gas and at least we're making a small amount back.
I'm waiting for Jeff to come home from mowing G-Ma's lawn. I should go and wrap all of the stuff I bought for Gina.
Happy Weekend.

I want a bumpersticker that says:
"Just say no to fantards"
or
"It's fantards like you that make me want to commit mass genocide"
live album = awesomeness
I don't know where anyone gets off saying that it isn't.

The ancient romans had D20 and used them to play games of chance.
So does that mean Caesar rolled critical fail (That's a 1 for you non-gamers) that morning for his luck and then missed his saving throw vs backstabbing once he got to the senate? XD

My musings at 3am when the sugar from sangria wouldn't let me sleep:
1. Why weren't Buffy and Willow college roomates in the first place? I mean Willow knows that you have to tend to the vampires (y'know slaying AND banging) why bother with a stranger? 2. Do you think that if I had another baby and it was a boy and named him Finn that people would automatically go Oh!!! Erm, um...Buffy fan?! Because I totally love that for a boy.
Anyway. I have swam for 11 days in a row. For a minimum of an hour each time. I've started to notice some changes in my body and I love it. Too bad swimming makes me totally famished and I eat my body weight in cheese afterward. I need to offset the gorging with running again.
My face is on fire. Even 45 block doesn't help.
Jeff took Riley to go buy mulch and then visit his parents. Yay for me. Silence.

This is turning out to be a really nice day. Jeff did some yardwork. Ri and I went food shopping. We all swam in the pool for hours. Had a snack of cheese and crackers under the umbrella. Now Jeff's firing up the smoker. We're having this tonight. I also have everything to make strawberry shortcakes for dessert. Mmm. I should soak mine and Jeff's cakes in some Grand Mariner before hand. Tasty. We've been eating outside almost every night and it's been really fun.
Yesterday's picnic was fun. Mom brought over KFC which is a rare treat. devotedteach27 and I swam all of our caloric indulgences away. So we hope. I am turning a nice shade of brown. Riley looks part Jamaican at this point. Ahh, summer.
Maybe I'll make a pitcher of sangria.

I feel like a goddamn space cadet lately. Hospital visits and massive amounts of meds aside, WHAT THE FRIG, SELF? Ugh. I need a good old Cher Moonstruck slap across the mouth. The laundry is piling up, I can write my name in the settled dust. My daughter spilled juice on the carpet and I barely wiped it up.
I need to get a grip. FIRMLY.
I think it's partially due to all of the lounging poolside. Also, because I have been gifted with having to associate with a group of innocuous, flacid, uneducated mental slow 'tards. All being of the work and or social capacity.
But I Digress
There has got to be something out there that will make me jump and sing again.
Jeff mentioned a boob job. Maybe a good old set of bolt on's would do the trick. Hmmm.
Ok. Here's what Ima gonna do... jump up, turn this machine off, throw some clothes in the wash banger, get some grub and MOVE THE HELL AROUND.

Jeff trying to get Riley into bed |

I'm allergic to peaches and apples.
Well, duh.
The Dr was very nice and funny. He made me leave the office and go buy an actual peach and apple rather than use his extracts. So he did the tests and it came up positlve for both. He's a little confused over the anaphylaxis though. He said he's only had one other case like mine and the diagnosis was ALLERGEN + EXERCISE = ANAPHYLAXIS. That's the only thing that was different with the 3rd reaction I had. I was swimming.
So that's that. I got a lesson on my epi pen and if I want an apple or a peach I have to cook it first. Sweet. Pie for everyone.
Why do I get all of the weird shit?

My anaphylactic shock, let me show you it.
What was supposed to be a relaxing Sunday turned into a full blown OMG. HOLY CRAP, I could have died moment.
Backtracking: So after a ridiculous Saturday night, I got up early to get my truck washed and went on a search for pool toys since a mouse used everything we had as his home! Everyone already has school supplies out, so I'm done looking until next spring. Anyway, after a little confusion with what Riley was doing for the day, my mom and devotedteach27 were keeping her for the morning and would bring her back home later. Cool.
I went home, changed into my swimsuit, loaded up on the SPF 45, grabbed a new book, some water and headed outside. Jeff was weeding and scruffing up flowerbeds and I just sat by the pool and just read until it got really too hot. I jumped in the pool and did my usual water workout (mainly drills and laps.) Got out, read, swam again, etc. I got a little hungry (around 12:30ish). Went inside washed an APPLE, ate it, reapplied sunblock and went back outside. Read for a bit. Jumped in the pool. Jeff had gone inside and gotten on his swim suit. Jumped in. He went on a snorkel recovery mission down by the main drain to clean it out. Then we just swam and *ahem* and then swam some more. He got out and said he wanted to eat some lunch and then head to the supermarket to get a chicken to test out his new smoker. I said ok, I'll go with you. I got out of the pool. Complaining that my face felt really tight and that I was afraid I had gotten a bad sunburn. I started to dry off when all of a sudden the palms of my hands started to get itchy again. (this has been the first signal of the allergy!) I got pissed off, showed him my hands and told him that I had to go take a benedryl and that he needed to give me about 15 minutes to recover.
So now I'm in the bathroom and the itching has started just as it had the last two times this happened. I strip down and am itching myself all over. Jeff told me to take a cold shower to help it. So I do and then I can feel my lips getting huge and then the tongue swelling. I yell to Jeff about it and he's like get out, get dressed we're going to the ER. He calls devotedteach27 to tell them what's going on. [Apparently Riley overheard the conversation and was very upset. Poor kid.]
( It gets really long and interesting here. )

Few little things!
I'm featured on the Chipotle Play Photos, ha, currently #3 of 85. :-) Feelin' the burrito pride! Hm. I get the feeling Chipotle replaced Krispy Kreme, because I write about it ALL the time here. Sorry about that. (But it's so delicious!) Started watching a new show and I'm totally hooked. Pushing Daisies! It's so lovely and colourful and it makes me crave pies so bad. And everybody is so quaint and cute!

And last, but not least little thing: Disconautica was awesome! I just went on Saturday, but it was so good, I love Shark and there was this one DJ, Sharam, from Deep Dish, who I knew just a little, from remixes and such, but he was totally amazing! I guess house isn't dead yet! & I think that was Shark's mix, hmm, not sure now, but I never thought I'd hear Join me by HIM in a really awesome and definitely not cheesy house mix. Superb.
