[Music |Life Is Wonderful - Jason Mraz]

Yesterday was...off the hizzle foshizzle.  I went with Tracy, Minjoo, Connie, and Vancy.  We all got ready at Tracy's house, and it took us four hours haha.  Imagine how long we'd take for senior ball!  Anywho, Chrispy was there!  We went to eat dinner with him at Carl's Jr, and he dropped us at school afterward.  We felt kind of bad that he couldn't go too.  Inside, we took our group picture, and James got in last minute haha.  And we just danced all night long.

My last SAT I is next Saturday, and OPPS I DID IT AGAIN.  I procrastinate and procrastinate and procrastinate for the past weeks months.  Starting tomorrow, I am back to an chay.  No meat for a week.  I need that 1800!

The Boardwalk [Saturday, August 16, 2008|10:52 pm]

[Music |Ridin' - Chamillionaire]

I woke up at 8 this morning hoping to catch the basketball game between US and Spain.  (It was not 8AM ET James! haha)  Around 10AM, Nhut drove his new BMW to our house and took us to chi Hong-An's house.  After we picked up chi Hong-An and Quen, we drove to San Jose for brunch.  On the way there, we passed by the site of our future mall.  I was happy to see that construction already started.  We went to eat at An Nam like always.  Then we headed to Santa Cruz..  Both Nhut and I had never been to the Boardwalk before.  I don't know why so many people diss this place.  I think the Boardwalk is way better than the State Fair (duh it's next to the beach!).  The Boardwalk seems like a perfect place for me because the rides don't look that scary.  Unfortunately, we didn't go on any rides.  After the long wait for a parking space, we were pretty exhausted.  We just checked out the beach, walked around, waited in line for funnel cake, and left.  It was also my first time trying funnel cake.  The line was long, so Quen, chi Hong-An, and I bought three: original, apple topping, and strawberry topping with ice cream.  Lesson learned: just buy the original.  The sky was grey and gloomy--just my type weather.  It started to sprinkle as we left the Boardwalk.  We took a road next to the ocean and made a stop to take some pictures.

WHOO! Michael Phelps just won his 8th gold medal!  I'm still bummed that I missed the basketball game.

[Music |Be - Common]

Melanie is the first to leave for college.  She's going to New York today.  Lucky girl, going to Cornell!  Yesterday, we had a surprised farewell party for her at Michelle's house.  It was such a long day especially for me.  Early in the morning, mom dropped me off at school to get my schedule change.  A lot of people came to see Mr. Greer, so we had to wait.  Thanwa was the first person I saw, so we talked for a while.  I decided to go to a different counselor because I didn't want to wait.  I forgot her name, but her office is the either the second or third closest to the door.  I was able to make all my requests, so I came out a happy girl.

Term 1 & 3
Per 1 Art AP - Bills (YAY! Four straight years!)
Per 2 Stat & Probability - Nickerson (I dropped Calc BC AP.  The workload for AP Stat would kill me, so I decided to go with regular.)
Per 3/4  Physiology - Spalty
5th lunch
Per 6 English AP - Karl

Term 2
Per 1 Economics AP - Collins
Per 2 Art History AP - Gibsons (I'm not too excited about this class since I don't really like history.  However, I want to maintain four AP classes to keep my gpa up, and this class was the only one that could fit in with my schedule.  At least I'll fulfill the 60 credits for Art Academy.)
Per 3/4 Ceramics 1 - Bills
5th lunch
Per 6
TA - Bevins (I want to change it to Mr. Spicklemier instead.)

Term 4
Per 1 Economics AP - Collins
Per 2 Art History AP - Miller
Per 3/4 Ceramics 1 - Bills
5th lunch
Per 6
Government - Formaker

Two AP's for each term.  Now that's what I call a balance schedule!  It kinda sucks that I have 5th lunch all year long.  I wanted to have a different lunch every term, so I can get the "full experience" in my last year.  Nonetheless, I am excited and scared for senior year!

I went to the library afterward hoping for someone to pick me up later on, but the library was closed.  I decided to walk to Raley's to buy some sodas for the pot luck.  No one bother to tell me the party was moved to 1PM instead of 11AM.  I ended up with A LOT of time to kill.  Walking to Raley's by myself seemed so much longer.  My sandals were giving me killer blisters and the heat was unbearable, so I decided to rest at Matt's house.  I woke him up like I always do with my sudden visit.  I just watched Matt played the last battle in FFVIII because he wanted to show me the ending.  I finally understood the story without ever playing the game haha.  Then I waited for him to take a "quick" shower, so we could go to Raley's and Jamba Juice.  Seriously, I don't understand why guys take so long to shower.  I only take around 5 minutes.  Sharisse came to pick me up while Matt was in the shower.  I felt bad for leaving right after though haha.  Sharisse, our wonderful driver, picked up up Matt, Andrew (at Indo Cafe), then Chris.  We all didn't have anything for the pot luck, so we stopped by Nugget.  We got to Michelle's house at around 2/3PM.  Michelle wasn't even home yet.  We took the foods out and decorated the house a bit.  Later we decided to stop waiting for Michelle and called Melanie to come over.  Michelle (the only non-asian haha), Chris, Andrew, Davy, and I waited inside the study room while Sharisse, Julianne, Andersen, and Nafiri opened the door for Melanie.  When Julianne said the code word "banana", we all came out from the study room to surprise Melanie.  Frankly, I was a little disappointed because our surprise call was so weak haha.  I did my thing with the camcorder and handed Julianne my camera to take picture.  Most people left to buy a kickball leaving me, Matt, Chris, Michelle, and Courtney at home. (Thanks for the notice guys -_-.)  Then we went to the new park next to Andrew's house to play kickball.  That park was built faster than I thought, and it's a lot smaller than I thought.  I couldn't play because of my feet, so I just sat on the side and watched.  Davy joined me shortly after and  then Michelle and Julianne  haha.  We decided to check out the playground, which was probably the fun part for me.  We were at the park til sun down.  Then everyone decided to rent movies at Blockbuster.  I was the first one to leave the party because my parents were getting irritated.  I was completely exhausted when I got home.  I ate my shabu shabu dinner then went up to my bedroom.  I planned on sleeping early last night, but I got in a very long phone conversation with Tracy instead haha.  I think I've become less phone-shy now.

[Music |Haru Haru - Big Bang]

This afternoon I went over to the Nugget market for the first time to buy lunch.  It must be the prettiest super market I've ever seen, and the people who work there are so cheerful and kind.  I saw and talked to a very unexpected (random) person there.  After I ordered my grilled salmon sandwich, I bumped into Jerome Love.  First off, I only had biology with him back in freshmen year.  We did talk, but we weren't exactly friends.  I didn't talk to him in sophomore or junior year.  Then today he suddenly came up and said "Hey Tran!".  I was completely surprised.  I always feel good when people know my name and even better that they remember it after three years.  This was the first time I've ever had a real conversation with him too.  We talked about motorcycles, photography, summer, etc.  He told me he's going to CRC for two years and then go to South Africa afterward to be a photo journalist.  I've seen his works at the art fair and in the yearbook, so I'm not at all surprised hearing this.  He's a great photographer.  I'm pretty envious that he already made such a big plan.  How many people do you know who are going to South Africa after college?  I say we stood there for a good five minute.  Apparently he works at Nugget.  I just happened to catch him when his shift was over.  We seriously need more people like him nowadays.  Friendly people who can just talk to anyone.  Totally made my day.

I finally got a haircut.  Originally, I planned on getting a trim because I had so many split ends.  However, I just don't like to pay for something as little as a trim.  I always go for the full service.  I don't know whether I love it or hate it.  My hair is very light now because of the layers, but it's almost feel like I'm bald hahah.  And my poor bangs, which I grew out for months, was cut in 30 seconds.  Rest assure that my hair is not short.  It's still long, but funky looking at the top.  I have to wait for a couple of months until I can finally get my Mika Nakashima cut.

[Music |Put On - Young Jeezy ft. Kanye West]

I went to Mom's work this afternoon to get a pedicure after we took anh Bao to his appointment.  I met an interesting lady  named Ellen, who is also one of my mom's loyal clients.  I think she is in her 60's and a cancer survivor.  She was an English major at Sac State and became a TA at  UC Santa Clara.  She told me she was a rebel and didn't "give a damn" about the (book) critics.  Honestly, I didn't know what or whom she was talking about when she started ranting on about literature.  Nontheless, she sounds like a genius (no sarcasm there).  I do love listening to elder people talk about their life.
