alrighty, you know how it goes.
if we at least have something in common (doctor who or otherwise), or I know you from somewhere, feel free to add me. :)
As a Keith Urban fan, I just have to say, that I'm TOTALLY thrilled that they're now expecting! I know Nicole, who already shares two children with Tom Cruise, has been talking about wanting a baby for a while, and Keith has also spoken about how he would like to have children, so it's really exciting that they're finally having a baby together.
I pray, that that she has a safe pregnancy, and that the child (or children) is/are born healthy. I really do like them as a couple, and am really happy for them. They totally deserve this.
I actually suspected that they MIGHT be expecting, when Keith, during his concert, when they showed stuff on the screen, they showed a photo of a grown person's hand holding a babys hand. And I was like... that couldn't just be there to be there, I mean, it didn't really connect with the songs, and they showed it more than once.
So I was a little suspicious about that, and now my suspicions are confirmed! And I'm so thrilled.
Little Urban children running around... with little Aussie accents, oh my lord. xD
AND I've really got to sort out my life. Starting with getting a paypal account... shall be attempting that this weekend, if the campus network decides to want to work with me, they've been really stupid with 'protecting our computers' and making sure we're not doing anything illegal. If not this weekend then the next, as I should be going home for that long weekend. AND I get to get my Zune, which is currently sitting in it's box at my house. :D
tis a really random thing, but I was reading a article/interview with Keith Urban and this line, it really stuck out to me.
And I know this doesn't just happen with country, I'm sure it happens with all kinds of music, but as I'm familiar with country and the sometimes hostility towards it, that's what I'm going to rant about.
The thing I always want has been for people to ask what I play, and when I say country, they would say, "Oh, what kind?," instead of just saying, "I don't like that stuff." This music is too rich and too deep to be cast aside as any one thing.
I love Keith Urban, because this is exactly how I feel. Living in the dorms and encountering different people, I've noticed some are totally cool with all types of music. But I've encountered my fair share amount of people up here that, when country is brought up, whether played or just talking about it, they automatically complain or make comments about it. It pisses me off.
I'm totally cool with all kinds of music. I'll listen to practically anything, and I totally respect people's tastes in music and that we all prefer different things. That's totally fine. That's the wonder of having choices, and being able to pick what you like.
So when people I know and hang out with, toss a whole genre aside just because of what it's called. "I don't listen to it because it's.. blah, blah blah." "It's all just whiney people complaing about their wife (their dog, their bar, etc)" "It's crap" "Why would you listen to that?" I am greatly annoyed.
Because like all other genre's country has many facets too. You can't or shouldn't define a performer/artist and their music only by their genre, because they're so much more than that. You can't lump music together like that
