Nov. 3rd, 2007 @ 06:34 pm Guster makes me tap my feet
I could really go for a concert right now. One where I know the words to most of the songs and everyone is dancing around. I could really just go for something to look forward to. My life is to boring and scheduled. Maybe a new pair of shoes would change that....

So I'm back from the most exhausting and amazing summer. Med-O-Lark continues to amaze me with how I fall in love with different parts of it every time I step on the property. Last year I fell in love with working with horses and children every day. This year I was exhausted from the sheer amount of work and didn't get as close to the girls in my cabin as I did the year before. However, I got to work with Steve for the last month and now have a little brother living in Turkey.

Anyway, I'm home and going to get a car soon! I can't wait for school, mostly because I have a single room in a suite. Is there anyone around Skowhegan for the next week? I don't have anything to do, so give me a call if you are free!

Even though this is really late, I suppose it is in response to Steve's comand. So I leave for camp on Thursday. I feel bad because I haven't seen anyone, but it seems like I haven't even been in Cornville. Between going to New Hampshire and Portland I've been elsewhere for most of the time. The only thing I don't like about camp is that I can't see people who don't work there for the most part. I'm really going to miss seeing Steve every week...
But I'm SOOO excited for camp! I hope that it's going to be as amazing as last year was...

It is wonderful and sunny today!!! I am really really hoping that this weather trend will continue for a few weeks, or just the whole summer.

So a few days ago I realized that I'm going to turn 20 on June 20th. Hahaha that is sooo cool.

I'm really excited for summer... I think I will actually have a car this summer, an ugly and uncool one, but a car none the less.

So, dear Cornvillians and Skowheganites, I need to have my fill of your company before June 5th. Then I am back to the wonderful grind of summer camp. And if anyone wants to come visit for a day.. just let me know!!

I really make no sense in these "entries"...

When I'm not being cynical and bitter towards them, I kinda like the fact that my neighbors have their bad music so loud that I can dance to it.

So, I'm taking this class, it's about world food consumption. Could be really fun, but we have a boring professor.... anyway, for the last five classes the students have been presenting foods from around the world and we get to eat them. So today a girl MADE dulce de leche. And it is soooo good and really easy. All you have to do is boil a can of condensed milk for a few hours and keep it covered in water. I'm SOOOO excited.

You know, I really love cleaning my room. It is such a good way to get away from all the stuff that I worry about and just calm down for a half an hour or so. And since my roommate is a slob, well... I get a lot of chances to clean.

The sun makes me so happy. The fact that I have very few papers left for the semester makes me happy. The naked girl on my longboard makes me laugh. Right after I got it we realized that she didn't have a nipple on the exposed breast, so one drunken night we drew one on in permanent marker.

I love my bulletin board, it is covered in hockey tickets, concert tickets.... ooooooooh I need to get my latest Guster ticket from Steve....... hmmm yeah, my bulletin board is totally cool.

DUDE GUYS I'M GOING TO BE IN CORNVILLE IN EXACTLY 15 DAYS!!! LET'S GO TO GIFFORDS!!!!

I wish I knew how to put pictures in here...

In exactly one month I will no longer be in Penobscot Hall, room 311 sitting in my super fluffy bed. The end of the year is always really hard - on one hand I can't wait to not have to take tests, write papers, and stress out about where I'm going to live! On the other, I will miss longboarding down the hall and seeing tons of friends, dancing across the hall and into Steve's room to play rollercoaster tycoon, and knowing that if I get bored there is a good chance that there is someone around to entertain me.

The worst part of the year is the last night in your room.... everything is packed up and echoing and you know the next day you won't be able to see everyone who means so much to you whenever you want.

Ah well.... I'm going to go longboard around and around the hall.....

Happy First Day of Spring!!!

Not only did I get to walk on grass for the first time since the middle of January, Dunkin' Donuts was giving out free iced coffee!!! AND my MAT 101 class is so freaking crazy that we all got a 100 on our test just for showing up instead of having our TA (who is also the professors wife) write all the answers on the board. For the first time she wrote the alphabet on the board correctly, and thanked us for coming to class. What a great way for Spring to start!!

I TOTALLY wiped out on my longboard today. In front of people. In front of cars.

I was embarrassed.

now I see why wearing a helmet may be a good thing.

My dorm is freezing cold. I mean so cold that my fingers get stiff and don't want to type. I think my room is the only place above 60 degrees in the whole building. NOT COOL!

So I have a brand new MacBook. It is white and pretty and I have no idea how to use it. If anyone knows any cool tricks to it you should let me know. Rumor has it that there can be an alarm of some sort?? I dunno....

I just had to pause for a second to warm my hands on the underside of my computer (ok, so I may have given him a little tickle too... ).

So it's a new semester, it's 2007 and in two years I will be starting my last semester of college. I'm getting old. OH but not as old as my professor..... my MAT 101 professor is at least 109 years old. I mean 309 years old. It is something that must be witnessed to be believed. The best part is that his TA is his 50 year old wife who can't write the alphabet correctly. She thinks that "W" comes after "T". Really... she does. And when we corrected her she wrote "LUV U" on the board. Then wrote all the answers to the test (of which one question was if we had come to every class, you could answer how you wanted) on the other board and told us to grade ourselves. I know I am wasting money on a class where I learn nothing, but hey, I need a high GPA.

Hahaha.. reading that makes me laugh to myself.

It is finally snowing... I'm ignoring the fact that it is the middle of January and am just happy that there is snow coming from the sky. Winter is actually nice when it's snowing.. today it was fun walking around in the snow, scuffing my feet and catching snowflakes on my tongue.

Break was nice, but it is really really nice to be back. Just about everyone is here and I realized how much my dorm is really like a little (big) home. Steve's roommate got a WII and OMG I love it. I get really competitive though and have already hit a few people. Ooops...

Well.. I've survived another year. Apparently to some it is a surprise, most new years I'm congratulated on still being alive. And due to the large bruise that is growing on my hip, I can see where they are coming from.

To explain, my night consisted of playing crazy-insane-kill-people hockey. Since my original plans fell through I found alternative plans and ended up in the wilds of Athens, Maine, on a pond with a hockey stick and instructions to kill people who had the puck and weren't on my team. The other team obviously had the same intent... I have never been slammed into the ice so hard in my life. It was great fun, I even scored a goal and many people now say that sneaker-on-ice hockey is my calling.

Later there was a game of manhunt, and I froze, hidden on a roof for two hours. I'm really good at hiding and being quiet despite the predictions made.

Really, watching the ball drop at 12 isn't as exciting as it used to be. Especially when people have Tivo and insist on rewinding it and watching the ball drop about ten times.

I'm excited for 2007. So far, it's already going better than the first day of 2006 did. Mostly because I'm not working.

So, welcome 2007, I have no plans for you, but it should be fun!

I've decided that I really enjoy being back into the whole LJ thing. Today I woke up and thought about the fact that I could hear dripping water on my weird roof and it reminded me of being back in high school and how wonderful life was. I really never had any stress in high school. I miss Tuesday nights in L-Dog's room and endless hours in the auditorium. And then after doing e-brake turns in the parking lot. HAHAHA I remember taking Alex and I think Annie was in the back seat of my nissan, on their first e-brake-spin-fun-time. Their faces! it makes me chuckle just thinking about it.

But I love college, I want to be back in my little warm room with all my stuff that I could ever need right now. All my new friends are there and we get to complain about the food every day. And we drag our feet to classes, and come skipping back to just lay around and talk about how boring life is. I miss that.

I love my high school self. I am listening to my old play lists, ones with titles like: Summer Orientation (my first college play list) or Dance Party 2005!.

There is a lot of Aaron Carter in some. I still know all the words.

I guess that is all of my chatter for today.

Oh Cornville. You make me laugh.

It is Christmas eve eve and it is raining. blah. My finger feels asleep because I mashed potatoes to hard this evening. I didn't know cooking could be so dangerous. I really can't believe that it is Christmas vacation. My mom is wrapping presents in my sisters room... I asked her if there was a oddly shaped present with wheels and grip tape that needed to be wrapped... she just laughed.

My dad and I watched X men tonight... We drank root beer... Wow... my life really isn't interesting at all.

Though.. I did go to the wonderful town of Waterville today. Oh yes.. my dad and I went to Home Depot to but new lights for our house. Then we put them up. Or more of my dad put them up and I danced around getting excited and nearly shocking him by flipping a switch when he wasn't finished with some wiring.

I got shoes for 50 cents yesterday. They are actually really nice heels, and even though they are brown I like them. I just can't believe that I got them for 50 cents. It rocks my world.

Other interesting news: My phone fell down two flights of stairs today. But, because it is the amazing phone that it is (if you haven't had the chance to use, touch, or see my phone you should find me and ask me to see it.. it really is the coolest thing ever) it has one little scratch and that is it! I'm so proud of it. It is beginning to rival Pete's phone in the tough category.

I'm still looking for the ultimate pokadot skirt... Oriana, we need to find it over vacation!

Haha.. its monday of finals week and I just got out of bed. Finals week is always the worst ever. Not only do you have tons of tests and papers and crap to do, but everyone is leaving. And unlike High School it isn't a huge celebratory day when everyone leaves at once. Here people just drift off and you don't even know they are gone until you look like a fool pounding on their door and people tell you.

I love that I'm listening to really really bad music right now. Itunes... you are so great at being random with my moods. I mean sometimes Nelly is just what you need to make it through the day..... right. And now it's on to Justin Timberlake. Wow... wonderful.

This weather is confusing me. In one way I really want a ton of snow and to go skiing and to make snow angels and walk through crunchy snowbanks. But with this sun and warm weather I also want to go throw a frisbee and lay on new grass. Spring is so wonderful. I think it is the only time of year that I truly appreciate the weather. In the winter I love to ski, but I still complain about the cold wind and the fact that I am being attacked by snowflakes. In the summer it is always to hot unless I'm in the middle of a lake or on the beach, and fall just makes me realize that winter is coming. But after -20 cold, spring is the most welcome weather pattern ever. Last year we had a BBQ in the quad and were always outside..... it is the best part of college by far.

We all went to my house on saturday. I never appreciate my house when I'm there by myself. It is so much better with lots of people around. I vote that everyone come over during break. My mom misses having people around and is big into making food for people. I vote for a night at my house with everyone. Please make it happen.

Dear Livejournal,

I have cheated on you for over a year now with Facebook. There was a time where you just couldn't provide for my needs. I blame most of it on going to college... everyone else was doing it!!! I really just couldn't help myself. Will you ever forgive me?? Can you find it in your little, web based heart to take me back??

Much love,
In the words of little Richard,

Apparently Livejournal is stepping into the next age or something....... it scared me when I signed on.

Having friends in college is so different from high school. I always feel guilty for something even if it is just a figment of my imagination. I think is has to do with the fact that nothing is ever planned.... you never really call someone and plan to hang out.. people just appear and you go with the flow. If people don't want to go than they don't. I just almost always want to go and they don't. ugh.
