"THICK AND THIN" -- From multi Emmy-Award winning producer Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video Television comes this half-hour comedy about Mary (Jessica Capshaw, "The Practice"), a formerly fat woman who embarks on a new journey as a fit and newly single woman. That's easier said than done, however, when Mary's family and friends still see her as her former self. They include her overweight mother (multiple Emmy winner Sharon Gless, "Cagney and Lacey"), her overweight younger sister (newcomer Amy Halloran), her father (Martin Mull, "Roseanne"), and her weight-loss program buddy (Mel Rodriguez, "Panic Room"). But it is at the pool-and-spa company franchise she owns in suburban Florida that she finds her most unlikely confidant, her brother-in-law (Chris Parnell, NBC's "Saturday Night Live"), the company's "leotard-ed" spokesperson named "Captain Chlorine." When a cringe-worthy misstep lands her in bed with her ex, she realizes that getting thin was less about pleasing others -- and more about being comfortable in her own skin.

Like the subject says...
What the fucking fuck?

"Getting thin was less about pleasing others and more about being comfortable in her own skin"

Maybe I shouldn't hate on a show that I have not seen but pffft...PLEASE.
What about the currently fat chick instead of the formerly fat chick ?
Why doesnt the currently fat chick get her own show that does not portray her as completely crazy, irrational, or otherwise mentally unstable (Kirstie Alley, Kirstie Alley)
Like being fat is the worst thing that could happen to you and there needs to be a situational comedy about a WOMAN who is RECOVERING from being the FAT KID.
Like a woman's life is ruined by the fact that's she FAT.
Arggggh x 10 million !
Hello I am fat, but again with the what the fucking fuck...
I will never understand why other people can complain about not seeing themselves portrayed in the media when there is one hole that has been so obviously left missing...

Why doesnt the fat chick get taken seriously?
Why doesnt she get a love interest ?
Why does the fat guy get a hot wife ? (See: Kevin James, also: The Full Monty Guy)
Why is she dismissed as the funny sad girl who gets good grades, or is really dedicated to her job, or is always the shoulder to cry on, or the side kick, or the sad chick or whatever.

Melissa= sick and tired.
You should be comfortable in your skin regardless of your size.
I have learned to be after years and years of struggling, and this shit, this bullshit is what perpetuates the myth.
It also doesn't help that young celebrity females these days have seemed to take to the cigarettes and red bull diet, thus making them weigh about as much as my 11 yr old cousin (see: Lindsey Lohan, also Nicole Ritchie, also the crazier more bag lady Olsen)"

Well written. It kind of goes along with the mood I am in right now.
