Things that bother me about Buffy:
1. They've made it clear that it is possible for Slayers to "go bad" (like Faith), but there's really only supposed to be one Slayer. There is a protocol to be followed in those instances, but they clearly failed in Faith's case, so what would happen if there wasn't also a Buffy? The monsters would take over the world?
2. The fact that they didn't deal with this during the 5 weeks that Buffy was dead. Shouldn't the Council have been concerned about the lack-of-a-Slayer and hunted down Faith?
3. Giles, who was very anti-resurrection, still didn't want anyone to know that Buffy was dead. Why?
4. I understand that Sunnydale is the Hellmouth, but shouldn't Buffy be needed elsewhere sometimes? Every planned apocalypse ever can't happen in the same town.

In other news, I've been back from Spain for about 6 weeks. I'm doing nothing with my summer so I'm super bored. I'm applying for TFA and semi-working on my thesis, watching way too much Buffy, and knitting up a storm. I'm excited for school to start, but I'm also not, because it means I'll be a senior, which is too close to comfort to the real world, and that's horrifying.

My honors thesis application just got accepted!! Yayy!!

And, a couple of my grades aren't in yet, but I'm fairly positive I got a 3.95 this semester. More yayy.

Spain is soon. I'm excited. But terrified. More excited than terrified. I think.

It's been a long ass time since I updated this thing, but I've been lurking quite a bit lately and I thought I'd say hi and give a summary of the last 4 months of my life.

This semester went by freakishly fast. After Thanksgiving we only have a week and a half of classes, and then I only have 4 more days until my last paper is due. I have like 80 billion things to do between now and then. I'm kind of freaking out. It feels like it should be Halloween time. I really don't get how this happened.

I'm getting ready to go to Spain in mid-January, which is sooo soon, and all of the stuff I have to do to prepare is adding to the stress of finals. I'll be there for 6 months, and I've never been away from home for that long before, so that's making me nervous. All of my classes are going to be taught in Spanish, and I'm scared I'm gunna fail, but the advisers have told me I'll be fine and I guess I sort of believe them. I still don't have a plane ticket. Aaaah!! I also declared a Spanish minor. Why? I'm not quite sure.

Beau left. There was drama. We broke up. I am sad.

Also, I took up rock climbing. It makes me feel hardcore and badass. Except the other people at the gym are more hardcore and badass. But I'm actually really good for how long I've been climbing.

I'm excited for Thanksgiving. I miss people. And I love my family. And food. And Puppy. And the fat lazy dog.

More later? Maybe?

I cut all my hair off. It's not quite what I wanted (the layers should start higher and there should be more of them) but I realized that what I actually want would make my head look enormous, so I'm content.

Pictures!Collapse )

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are outgoing (100%), romantic (86%), intellectual (70%), horny (67%).

Stereotypes
Prep92%
Punk Rock67%
College Student64%

Life Experience
Sex33%
Substances49%
Travel32%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Socialist, whom you agree with around 83% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Class. You make more than 33% of those who have taken this test, and 93% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG-13.
By the way, your hottness rank is 67%, hotter than 74% of other test takers.

I feel like I've been neglecting this thing. If I actually updated would anyone (who I don't tell everything to anyway) read it?

You guys know me better than I know myself...

What do I want for Chanukah/Christmas? Mommy needs to know...

I'm thinking about taking pictures of my Chanukah decorations and putting them online because I'm that lame. We have lights and shit. It's pretty. :)

I love winter before I start to hate it.
