Elissa Maegan [Jul. 28th, 2004|08:54 pm]
[mood |accomplished]

I've written a full account of Tuesday's activities on my blog but here's the synopsis.

Elissa Maegan was born at 8am on Tues morn after a 3.45 hour drug free natural labour (in contrast to my first 31 hour labour and emergency section)

Weighing 6lbs, 14oz

Hooray, who's for a pint and a Jack in about three months time?

Never had so much fun with a 9V battery - Hmm [Jul. 20th, 2004|04:15 pm]

Wow, tried out my TENS (transcutaneous electronic nerve stimulation) machine last night. Settings are 1-8. Had to get to 3 before I felt anything but when I did it was kinda cool and sent me into hysterics every time I pressed the button - I like having my back tickled at the best of times. I tell you this thing is better than any bloody drug that i've been stupid enough to try. Only managed to get to 4 before it started getting annoying and wasn't pleasurable anymore.

took it round to X's where I made him do it. Now he didn't have the electrodes on exactly right as he made a fuss and stated that I wasn't putting them on his butt (back of the hip) so they were a bit high but I've never laughed so much in my life. He managed all the way up to 8 and claims it wasnt that painful but he got jittery after 4 and by 7 his back was kinda twitching funny.

Next was Keiths turn and he allowed them to go in the right place. He looked like he was in a little more pain but still made it up to 8 and shamed me. I'm gonna have another shot after I get home from the playhouse tonight and see if I can make it to 8.

Better buy another battery in time for D day.

Went down to Eyemouth and visited the grandparents. They have this huge old farmhouse and have just had central heating installed for free as they are over 60. This is fantastic as before now they survived on a coal fire in the living room and one in the kitchen. However, it did mean that my granny spent twenty minutes taking me through all the bedrooms to "show" me the heating - "yep granny think i've seen a radiator before and every one of these ones is the same as the last" Then I had to endure being shown hundreds of wedding photos taken at my cousins wedding that I had only gone to to be polite.

But nevermind cos after that we drove to Broxburn for my mates fiance's birthday BBQ. I love these people. I went to school with three of them and they're nuts. It's so nice to be in the company of people you have known since you were old enough to knock out their front teeth with a garden spade (or was it the back ones? he lost teeth twice thanks to me)

Well I didn't last too long as I started getting really unconfortable but the next one I am definately gonna go to and get as hammered as the rest of them and kip on the floor. Will just have to remember to put at least three rooms between me and Ian. He has a habit of wandering into other beds when very drunk.

Friday night [Jul. 17th, 2004|08:36 am]
[mood |mellowmellow]

Was nice to go out last night - for however briefly.

Met a very nice bloke called Angus who seems about as comfortable around strangers as I am. Fortunately, while my mind clams up and cant think of a damn thing to say, his appears to do the complete opposite. Didn't stay too long as started to get uncomfortable sitting down but will definately be making more appearances once bubs is here.

At which time I would appreciate it if someone feeds me with Jack Daniels till I start talking to people or pass out, whichever comes first.

Death by chocolate [Jul. 15th, 2004|04:51 pm]
[mood |contemplativecontemplative]

Gave J a bit of a fright today.

As I choked on my minstrel whilst playing Baldur's gate a rather morbid question came to mind. If I died obviously the baby will get no blood or oxygen and will also die. If that happens do they bury you (or in my case burn - set me on fire and throw me to the wind don't put me under the ground to rot)do they leave the baby where it is or do they take it out for a separate funeral?

So this got me onto telling J that if that ever happened he has to do a DIY type cesaerean. He didn't look too keen especially when I suggested we should invest in some sharper/bigger kitchen knives. Poor lad always was a bit squemish.
