Mark your calendars! Labs4Rescue is proud and excited to be a part of the New Haven County Cutters Dog Days event on Wednesday, June 20th at the Yale field in West Haven , CT. The game starts at 7:05 pm ; gates open at 6:00pm . Bring your dog(s) to the game! Tickets are only $8 per person, $3 per dog. Tickets may be purchased through the L4R website via PayPal, or by printing out an order form (click here for Excel format or here for Acrobat format) and sending the form with a check to the PO Box. Dog admission may also be paid at the gate. Proceeds from tickets sold by L4R and the dog admission fee will benefit Labs4Rescue. Here's the link to the flyer: http://labs4rescue.com/20070620dogdays.pdf Please print and post the flyer at work, around town, or other convenient common areas.

There will be a pre-game doggie parade, between-innings doggie events such as musical "sit" and a talent show of unique doggie tricks, as well as a doggie concession stand. L4R will have a table in the concourse, selling t-shirts and other items as well as a raffle for a doggie goodie basket. Most importantly, you are encouraged to bring foster dogs for their usual “advertising,” but we will also be featuring select foster dogs and their “story” on the field between-innings.

There will be a bathroom and watering station for the dogs, but please bring your own "doggie bag" for clean-up purposes. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Vaccination records will be checked at the gate by L4R volunteers. All dogs must be leashed.

Email tickets@labs4rescue.com for questions. Volunteers are needed to man the table in the concourse. If you are interested in volunteering, please email co-coordinators Marianne at mchird@comcast.net or Heather at heather_rn@sbcglobal.net.

Thank you, and see you at the game!

You know you all want to come see the Vagina Monlogues Friday or Saturday from 8-10p in Engleman Hall room C112. Tickets are $12 and it's being donated to a worthy cause. Plus, I'm in it and so is Erica. Hope to see you all there.

Clearly some people have things they want to say to me. If you have the guts to make a comment about me, why not sign it?

After this point any and all entries that are not strictly quizzes or me trying to communicate en masse will be friends only. Because frankly, I thought I had left immature bullshit behind me when I left high school and that the people I spoke to were mature enough to say things TO me when they had a comment, not AT me.

By all means, whoever you are, get it out of your system. Just try growing a pair first.

Anonymous comments to this entry will be screened. Again, if you feel you've got something terriblyt important to say, why cower when it comes to actually saying it?

News from Jessica

fumbling, farawaystables
Alrighty listen up. I got a letter from Jessica and I'm supposed to pass her address on to anyone who wants it. So, if you want to mail Jessica a letter let me know (I have issues with posting other peoples addresses, even though in this case its an army base). Leave a comment w/your IM or e-mail address and I'll give you her address that way.

Play on

fumbling, farawaystables
I've come to a lot of realizations within the last couple of weeks, none of which can really be mentioned because they all have at least one thing to do with at least one person besides me. But after realizing all of the things I needed to realize, I feel fantastic. For the first time in years I am caffeine, ibuprofen and (just for the hell of it) Tylenol free. I feel natural and free and happier than I have ever been.

And then there was tonight. Tonight that inspired me to write. I haven't gotten past the first few lines but I'll think about posting it when it's finished. I probably won't...but I'll think about it.

2007. Not the start of a brand new life, but the start of living the way I really am meant to.

Kimmie > you

fumbling, farawaystables
It had to be said. Kimmie is a fantastic person. She is (overly) generous and under-appreciated for all she does.

You don't need to understand WHY, although, for the record, if you know her at all you should ALREADY know why.

I love you Kimmie!

(PS - I apologize if anyone saw the symbol mistake in the subject before. It has been corrected.)

Well, I could do a traditional "this is what I got for Christmas" list, but I gots mostly clothes (most of which I picked out because they were needed...stuff is shrunk from having it for so long and the wardrobe needed an overhaul...you learn this stuff moving in and out of dorms). So...I'm gonna highlight my favorites or special stuff.

I LOVE my Barefoot Contessa at Home cookbook from my sister.
She also got me Cars. :0D
Parents got me POtC: Dead Man's Chest.
And Abundance: A Novel of Marie Antoinette by Sena Jeter Naslund.
People (including my boyfriend's grandparents who totally didn't have too give me anything) gave me, between giftcards and money, enough money to get most of my textbooks.
Got some nice sweaters (one from Mark's mom..again, didn't need to...)
Mark's mom also got me a scarf, hat, and glove set...that goes with
My brand new Winter/Spring/Fall beautiful brown leather coat from Mark. O...M...G
He also got me The Devil Wears Prada (heeehee...because I'm like the main character sometimes)
And Italian Witchcraft by Raven Grimassi (I didn't realize he caught my glances when we were looking for that A.J. Drew book for him....)

So there we go...presents

Although I have to say, my favorite part of Christmas was curling up with my boyfriend for a 5 hour nap. :-)

Happy Holidays all!
