You know what? I don't hang out with any of the "groups" at my high school. Not the Gateway group, not the rich kids group, not the geek group, and certainly not the popular group.

Wanna know something else? I could care less. :)

so let's give it up for the new year;

I almost forgot. I bought a Peanuts calendar for 2006 a few days ago, and one of the months' pictures is Snoopy with a football helmet walking with Woodstock, who's carrying a sign that says "WE'RE NUMBER ONE". The caption reads:

"Happiness is knowing who you are."

That's my New Year's resolution. I want to know who I am and live up to myself every single day. Laugh more, smile more, try to make what little difference in the world that I can.

feeling: contemplative
listening to: together we'll ring in the new year; motion city soundtrack

don't make fun--i wrote these

oh society, have mercy on your soul.

is it too late for the clouds to clear?
maybe society can survive
can become aware of its misgivings
maybe we can survive in clarity
where choices are readily apparent
and the grey begins to disappear
is it too late for the fog to lift?
maybe we'll be okay

you are foolish in your ignorance
every word out of your mouth becomes
an unintentional lie
you use a disguise as your excuse
pretend you can go on like this forever
another lie
this time intentional
you just don't realize it yet
you are lost in your foolishness
a moment longer and you begin to drown
you've done it now
this time no on'es here to save you
or maybe no one wants to
as your thoughts turn to clouds
you realize your mistake
too bad
it's too late to save yourself

the world is folding inward upon itself
revealing secrets and skeletons
until all dissolves into nothingness

FOLLOW ME HOME
BACK TO WHERE I BELONG
WHERE I ONCE FELT REAL
AND NOT SO FAKE AND DISTORTED
TAKE ME HOME
TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN BE FREE
AND I'LL SET YOU FREE WITH ME
TWO BIRDS SOARING
WILL NEVER COMPARE TO US
HOME WILL SET US FREE AGAIN
HOME WILL MAKE US RIGHT AGAIN

HOLY KAFIZZLE-EATING MOTHER.

Sydney and I were just almost killed by my chemically imbalanced 10 year old brother.

No lie.

He had a gun-and he knew how to use it. LMFAO.

But anyways. Yeah. I stole his little rubber band ball or whatever, and he had an effing coronary, chased Syd and I out of the house (I had the ball at this point). I throw the ball into the grass; he goes after it. Screaming. Syd and I hightail it into the feed room, which we successfully lock ourselves into, and hide out. Soon we hear the sounds of my crazed little brother from outside the feed room door. He proceeds to shout (while we're laughing hysterically mind you), "I HAVE A BB GUN. AND I KNOW HOW TO USE IT!" At this point we were just about on the floor laughing, and then we realized he might really have one. We noticed the 3 inch gap in the door and realized that he could probably fit the gun in through there. OH SNAP. Now we're cowering against the opposite wall, still laughing our butts off and probably making him even more insane. Then he goes and starts kicking the friggin door in the barn (which is bolted shut and has shelves in front of it) like a madwoman trying to get in. Haha. Then all goes quiet. Ryan has moved, without us knowing, into the adjoining tack room. By now we're frantically trying to unlock the feed room door, which absolutely WILL NOT move, and he bursts into the room. We scream, force the door open, and dash like cheetahs towards the house, with Ryan chasing us screaming "YOU ASSHOLES I'M GOING TO KILL YOU. I CAN OUTRUN ANYONE IN THIS HOUSE!"-which he proves by following "closely" (10 feet give or take) behind us. When we reach the porch, I throw the door open to use as a shield, which the little brat then uses to smash me into the cabinet. Lovely. So I move the door and run inside, with Ryan kicking me, and jump on the sofa. Note how no one has come to our rescue at this point. Not funny. Anyway, Ryan flips out, runs to his room, slams his door, and leaves us out to get yelled at by my mom. But we didn't mind too much obviously, since we couldn't keep a straight face the entire time.

Sooooooo yep. Needless to say, that was the funniest thing that has EVER happened at my house. Ever.
